Juniel can still remember the first few days she was reborn. Her master, a thousand year-old vampire trapped in a 22 year-old body, walked her around the streets of Seoul; imparting knowledge and techniques to make her hunt easier. 

"Vampires have a charm that no human can resist," he said to her. “Plus we look really, really good," he added giving her a tight-lipped smile.

True enough, all the people around have been staring and ogling at them shamelessly. and instead of being self conscious, Juniel felt powerful and superior. She held her chin higher and her back straighter, earning approving looks from her master.

"It’s feels amazing isn’t it. having all these attention… But it is also a curse,"

"Really? Why?" she asked.

"You have to be careful when and where to turn on the charm. Having all the attention is a good way to hunt but it also makes you very memorable to witnesses… that’s why i‘m here to teach you how to single out a target. " he explained.

 She nodded.

They continued walking in silence until her master stopped in an alley just outside a bar. With her heightened senses, the music is at its loudest and she can clearly distinguish alcohol, from sweat, and from vomit. 

"You can hear the footsteps getting nearer?" he asked her.

"Yes," she answered. 

"Good. How many of them are there?" 

"3 or 4?" she replied and strained her ears to hear more clearly. " there’s 3 of them," she said firmly.

"Ok. now i want you to focus on the one in the middle."

Juniel took a deep breath (not that she need’s it; old habits die hard) and stepped out the alley just as the group as walking by. The three men stopped abruptly and looked at her from head to toe, but Juniel kept her eyes trained on the one in the middle. 

“Yah, agassi, are you lost? Do you want to have some fun?" the one on the right said. 

It’s like a switch has been turned inside her and she looked instead at him. 

“Uhm, my brother told me to wait for him here." she said softly, acting innocent. 

"Maybe we could wait for him together," the one on the left said, malice glinting in his eyes. 

"Really? you would wait with me?"
 

"Of course. You’re a pretty girl and the others would not be so kind. but i think we should wait in the alley. We’re kinda blocking the way."

the three men started to step towards her and Juniel started to back up. The three men acted quickly and started to crowd her. She managed to look surprised as one of them covered while the other two pinned her hands on the wall. She started struggling but one of them punched her face.

“Ow!" 

“Yah, what happened to you?"

"She’s just a girl. you‘ve never punched a girl or someone before?" 

the other three were making quite a commotion that she couldn’t help but laugh out loud. 

The one on the right covered again but this time, she bit into it, tasting blood. And that’s when she dropped the act. She looked at them, no trace of the innocent, helpless girl from before. Juniel’s pretty sure that her eyes are glinting red right then. 

"Wha-what are you?!"

"Monster! You’re a monster!"

they turned back and walked towards the streets again but Juniel was faster. In the blink of an eyes, she stood between them and the streets.

"You can’t escape now," she said in a sing song voice. Stepping towards them slowly. “You’ll be my dinner," she hissed, smiling wide, letting them see her fangs. 

The one in the middle started to shout so Juniel attacked him first. The other two just stood there, frozen by fear. 

“Juniel, the point of this leason is to isolate a target," her master said, emerging from the darkness.

"But master, they were being rude. Besides, they don’t deserve to live if they treat helpless girls like that," she countered matter-of-factly.

She heard a soft tsk. “I guess i better call the others here," he said pulling his phone out. 

After placing the call, her master turned to look at her. “We’ll resume lessons tomorrow night. And please, no more random killings." he told her.

"Of course. I’m sorry master," she said bowing her head. 

"It’s fine… by the way, don’t call me master when we’re outside. I go by the name of Jung Yong hwa,"

"Okay then ma- Yong hwa-oppa,"
