This bothers me

I saw someone else made a post about this and it bothers me too so Im gunna rant a bit: I come from a very asian family and growing up in Korean I was always taught to use honorifics when speaking to/about people older than me. I have always done this because it is disrespectful not to. Now I live in America and a lot of the time when Im talking to my American friends I still call my brothers with honorifics. It just feels impolite for my to call my brothers by just their name instead of oppa. The thing that bugs me is the people that tell me to stop calling my brothers oppa and my sisters unnie all the time because it «makes me sound like a koreaboo». I hjust thing its really rude that people tell me this and judge me like that because: 1Im Korean from Kprea how could I be a «Koreaboo» 2They are my family and Im going to speak of them respectfully no matter where I am. I know I only get this a lot because a lot of mmy friends here are nonasian, but it still bothers me. Do any other asians have this prooblem too or ever feel like people judge them by how they talk?

Don't listen to them. Honorifics are important in your culture and you shouldn't let other people get you down because you say them.

OOH! PICK ME~ I was the one who made the blog post~

>.> I ONLY answer to my siblings when they call me "sis." NOTHING else. If they call me why my name, I'm like "Aww hell naww. Go fuc* off"

People always ask them why they call me sis instead of my name, and they just say it's a culture thing :P
