Where do you get your unique ideas from?

I see so many stories with crazy - yet amazing - plot twists and ideas. How do you guys come up with them? Just curious to see how your brain works :)

I usually imagine when I'm sleeping and I go to sleep that way. When my imagination tells me what to do next, I just follow it. It always leads me to a greater adventure and a greater opinion
