✶ Background:

Sohyoo was born and raised in Seoul, South Korea until she was 6. She and her family moved to Houston, TX to be with her mothers side of the family. She has two older brothers Jaehyun and Jun. As a child, she was always running around the house pretending to be a superstar. She would always find one of her mothers gardening gloves and pretend to be Michael Jackson. She loved singing and dancing and eventually her mom started putting her in local talent shows. She became a crowd favorite very fast and won many talent competitions. 

  Her brothers always played rap music, so she then developed a love for rap as well as hip hop dancing. She would frequently go with her friends to rap battles at the local park on the weekends. She knew she shouldn't have been there, but it was something about it that kept her coming back. After a couple times of going, she became a competitor in the battles. Her fast LED (ultra fast), raps use to amaze everyone. The couldn't understand how such power and speed was coming from such a small person. She realized not only was she good at it, but she had developed a true genuine love for rapping. That is when she decided that someway, somehow this had to be what she did for a living.

To accomodate her rapping, Soh excelled at dancing. She began taking dance classes at the age of 9 and her love for it grew over the years. At her request, her parents sent her back to Korea at the age of 14 to pursue her dreams of becoming an idol. There she lived with her cousin and continued to perfect her craft.  One day at an amusement park, she was standing in line to get some food with her friends. She had her headphones on, so she was rapping along with the music playing in them. A woman approached her and introduced herself as a talent scout for a major company. She gave Soh a card and told her to call that next Monday. When she did, she was called in for an audition. She wowed the representatives at the company, and they signed her as a trainee that very same day.
