First impression: When people meet Somin the first time, she'll leave permanent impression of a strong and admirable person. She is polite but still appears confident. She has a warm, genuine smile and motherly nature. She works hard and diligently, always takes care of things in-time. She adds some sarcasm in her speech and always knows what to say. People make friends with her easily and she's someone people can always trust.
 
True personality: When she first entered SM in 2006, she was very arrogant, strong-minded, straighforward and short-tempered young girl. She had that kind of personality, that many people tend to dislike. And she definedly had an bad attitude. She was quite sure she was going to debut soon. She was very confident about her skills expecially her dancing skills. Luckily she soon noticed that there was no way she was going to debut with that attidude. And that made her change it.
After that, because of her long training, she has matured a lot. She has lost her rudeness along the years with her arrogance and has become much more patient. She has developed herself a much more mature and caring character. That still doesn't mean she would have the very good personality, not at all. She's just more capable of taking a leading role and being polite to people. Her long trainee years paid of because at the present day she would be very good leader and she's capable of taking a lot of pressure.
But her long training wasn't only good thing. She can be very unsecure nowadays and she criticises herself a lot. I easily feels like she's not good enough.  She does have her confident moments and she has become much more cheerful and happy after she joined TS. She also grudge towards SM but that's only natural. During her training in SM she got easily jealous of other girls because of the harsh competition, but after she joined TS she has lost that jealousy because TS has much less trainees and expecially girl trainees. After joining STRIPE and coming back to SM, she prefers staying only with her groupmates now.
 
On stage: Her character is very unique and also boyish in some way. She's a good speaker and isn't afraid to tell her thoughs just as they are.  She has a good sense of humor and she's also quite sarcastic. She has very high morals and with her attitude you can find her easily scolding people who trow trash around or behave badly in some other way. She concentrates 100% to always give the best performance and does everything to avoid mistakes in stage.
 
Off stage: She's one of those people who make friends very easily. She works really hard to show only her best to other people, expecially to her juniors. She wants to be a mother-like character to younger and also newer trainees.
She can be a very loud person when you get to know them and many people enjoy her company. She has many friends but not many who are girls. She just doesn't get along with them very well. Her friends are really important to her even though she can't tell them about her hard ships or trust them with her insecurities.
She has natural talent only for singing and dancing, but she learns new thing fairly fast. All of her other skills are the result of hard work. You could definedly call her workaholic. She's a bit perfectionist and tends to require even too much from herself. Because of this, she tends to overwork herself and cannot really be completely satisfied with anything.
 
At fan meets: She appreciates her fans a lot and is always very polite. Still she manages to give very warm image to the fans who often view her as a big sister kind of character. Background: 

She is the eldest child in the Jo family having two younger brothers, who are the well known being Jo twins of the boygroup Boyfriend. Her dad is director,
but not any very known one and her mother is a hair dresser, who owns her own salon.
Her childhood was fairly normal and she comes from a normal middle class family. She was four when Youngmin and Kwangmin were born. When new kids are born, the older ones usually get less attention than they used to, right? And then the older kids get super jealous and start doing crazy stuff. Well, that's just what happened in Jo family too. There's a lot job with taking care of twins so it's only natural for the little five-year-old Somin to get jealous. And well let's just say that it wasn't a good thing. Not at all. To say it simply, one morning little Somin picked all the stones from their garden and broke and broke all the living room windows. What a nice thing to wake up to. Luckily her parents understood what caused her behavior and didn't scold her too much. She gets very embarressed nowadays if her parents mention her reaction of having little brothers and she tries to avoid talking about it. Her brothers becoming child actors didn't exactly help her to get rid of her jealousy, but she was able to do so after she grew and started to understand things better. She has been very close with her brothers after that but she's still jealous for many reasons. That's maybe why she prefers being around Hyunmin, the youngest sibling, who was born when SO was 7.
 
She has never done very well in school, good enought, but not very well. She has always had more interest in different things. Only thing she ever liked about school were language and music classes. You could say she has always been bit a rebel.

She usually wears very simple clothes that aren't very girly. She has a great body from dancing and she's not afraid to show it. She has no problem with wearing high heels, she just prefers sneakers, because they're easier to dance in. So she does wear high heels, but she nevers wears skirts. She will do it if needed, but she just doesn't like wearing them.She loves hats and sneakers, but rarely wears any jewelry just some earrings. (She really likes cuff earrings.) You could describe her style as kind of boyish or "swag", but her outfits usually have something cute in them too. She's quite interested in fashion so her clothes are very stylish. She likes strong colors the most and rarely wears any pastel colors.

Pre-Debut Experience: She has been a back-up dancer in various performances for both SM and TS. She has also done some modeling for online malls to make some money.
Trainee Years: Around 8 years
Trainee Background; 

She  auditioned first for JYP and YG but didn't get accepted to either one. Then she auditioned to SM in 2006 and got accepted to there because of her various skills. (And her looks. It's SM after all.) She has been training almost 8 years now.

She trained a while with SNSD members and was also part of one of the many different lineups SNSD had before their debut, but she was soon noted unsuitable.  She did befriend some of the members but they haven't seen each other after they debuted and they can't be counted as friends anymore. She also was in the boys dance class like Hyoyeon. After both SNSD and f(x) had debuted she realised that she needed to make herself more interesting for her to be able to debut. So she started to learn Japanese and English more actively and she also started to learn song making. She also started taking guitar and piano lessons to become better at playing them. If that already wasn't enough, she also started to train acting. She also moved to dorms in 2008 and haven't really saw her parents after that being just way too busy traning.

After her brothers debuted in 2011, she just got that feeling that she would never debut under SM because of her character and overall image. So she ended her contract with SM and auditioned to TS. That was maybe one of the best decisions she's ever made. She got in, and had 'Hope' and 'Faith' tattooed on her wrists. Cliché, but she likes them.

She has always been known for her powerfull dancing along the other trainees and it does fit her personality very well. It's the other one of her two strong points and she can even do some b-girling. Her singing voice comes as a suprise for many people. Her voice is quite sweet and she likes singing calm songs, but she also has power and personality in her voice.

Few months ago she got contacted my SM. They wanted her to become a member (leader) of STRIPE. She hesitated for quite a bit, but eventually said yes just for the change to debut.

Scene Requests:

Something goes wrong in proadcast and Somin throws a tantrum scolding the members like crazy when they get back at the dorm. She ends up pouring out all her feelings and crying in the end.

STRIPE has their debut stage and after that Somin finds a Cat plushie, that's from Yongguk or Youngmin and Kwangmin, from the dressing room.

Somin does a quite big mistake during some rehearsal. She laughs at it and then continues till the end of it, but then she disappears. Yongguk (or possibly her brothers) finds her hiding somewhere and crying. Her fear for failing made her to break down. That's the first time her insecurities would be revealed.

Ne~ ne~ you got the twins wrong~

Kwangmin's the 4D and Youngmin's the charismatic one . And they both have a little brother who is a 97 liner called Hyunmin ^^
