Layout Paradise is closed but they accept requests for shop layouts. I saw one for oneshot collections. Ask if they would take up your story layout request. It is relatively more simple than a shop layout coz you don't need that many labels.
However, as a reader also, I prefer the simple black text in white background. Fancy backgrounds or fonts aren't necessary because the a good story can attract readers. Character profiles are... Let's just say characterization is shown in the story.
