Onscreen: People tend to mistake Yerin as a quiet person due to her cold look. But once she's onscreen, she surprises many because she's actually really talkative and loving. Even though she is young, Yerin is good at communicating, and she's always laughing and making things interesting. Onscreen, Yerin gives the image of a really cute and innocent girl. Yerin smiles a lot when she's talking to people. She jokes around a lot with everyone around her in order to get closer to people and make the environment more comfortable for herself and for the other members. She's also really respectful to her sunbaes and everyone around her. However, one flaw about Yerin is that she can be really straightfoward from time to time. Like if someone asks Yerin enough about a subject, she'll just say it as it is and not really think about it. But sometimes people find it cute and like this naive side to her.
Backstage: Yerin is kinda the polar opposite backstage. She tends to be quiet because she's concentrating. If it's when she's about to go on stage to perform, Yerin is always going over the choreography of songs and lyrics in her head so she doesn't like to be bothered. If one of the members see that Yerin is gone, they'll usually be able to find her in a corner somewhere. During the last few minutes before going on stage, Yerin will be back to normal and will be cheering the group on and encouraging one another to do their best.
Friends and Family: This is when Yerin's weird side comes out. She tries to not let this side of her loose when she's onscreen because it might ruin her idol image. But when Yerin is with her friends and family, she likes to make weird faces and always does weird impersonations. She loves watching gag shows so she's really good at doing gags. As always, Yerin likes to joke around whenever she can so she's always pranking her friends and those close to her. Everyone knows to never let their guard down when Yerin is around because she's going to try and do something if you just let your guard down for one second.
Strangers: Yerin is very open-minded when it comes to strangers. If she sees someone she doesn't know, she approaches them first. Yerin doesn't like awkward silences so she always tries to keep the conversation going, which always does because Yerin can be so random. Even though they're strangers, Yerin also likes joking around. She feels like joking around is the only way to get closer to someone else because it makes them feel comfortable.

Overall, Yerin is a very fun and out-going person. It always shocks people when she's the one doing a lot of the talking and socializng due to her cold looks. But that image of her is immediately pushed away once she starts talking because people can see her playful side only. Yerin is a very curious person, which usually leads to her getting into trouble sometimes. Yerin is a big jokster. She loves having fun and making people laugh even if it means she has to look like a fool. She doesn't mind it, but she usually gets into trouble whenever she goes overboard so her manager has to remind her that she's an idol and has to remember about her image. The one thing Yerin hates the most is aegyo.

background ¦ Yerin was born on December 21 in Busan. Yerin comes from a middle class family. She has a mom, a step-father (Chinese), and a goldfish named Guppie. Her mother and real father divorved when Yerin was 3 so she doesn't have much memory of her father. Her parents own a little shop in Busan called Oh Ramen! And just like the name implies, her parents sells all sorts of different style ramen. Along with ramen, the shop also sells kimbap but it's mainly a ramen shop (like in Flower Boy Ramen Shop ;P).

Even as a kid, Yerin was a big jokester. She had lots of friends in primary school up to high school. But being a jokester wasn't always a good thing. Even though she had lots of friends, there were also people who didn't like her because they thought she was annoying. Yerin was a victim of bullying for a while. But her friends finally stood up for her one day and ended the silent treatment she had been enduring by herself. Yerin also got into lots of trouble when she was in primary school due to her constant pranks and joking. The teachers thought she had an attention disorder because she was always so jumpy. Her parents didn't know what to do about it because it seemed like Yerin was getting worse and worse.

It wasn't until they put Yerin into ballet class that Yerin's energy seemed to die down. Ballet was helping Yerin be calmer. As Yerin grew older, ballet changed to tumbling. Tumbling changed to hip-hop. Then hip-hop went to popping and locking. Yerin was just into all sorts of dancing-styles. Even though Yerin was full of energy, she wasn't the super hyperactive child she used to be in primary school. The dancers she admired included Taeyang, Yunho, Hyoyeon, and BoA. She liked making covers of their songs and that was how she was discovered. One of her videos were put on a blog and a talent scouter saw it. Yerin was contacted and asked to come in for an audition and she was able to get pass all the levels of the audition.

trainee life ¦ Yerin's training life could have been easy, but she made it hard on herself. Her dancing was already great, but Yerin always found flaws in her dancing so she was always going to classes to correct those little flaws over and over again. She wanted to perfect her dancing so it gave her little time to rest since she needed to work on her vocals as well which wasn't as strong as her daning. However, over time, Yerin finally stopped focusing so much on her dancing and a bit more on her vocals.
