[Trophy Father and Trophy Son] Possible Foreword? :D

"Slowly." I told myself as I poured the batter into the bowl. After evening it out, I was impressed at myself by how good I was getting at it this time. I stared at it in pride as if I had just rescued a life. I started to relax and open my bottle of water.

..

..

"Seungtae!"

I jumped, startled, and dropped the water bottle into the batter, ruining it for the 3rd time. "Dangit!" I spent 6 hours trying to make a ONE stupid cake for the first time, with the it being everyone else's but mine.

"Nevermind. You're probably mad."

"What?! You scared me and now I messed up the cake! Tell me!"

"No."

"Yes!"

"No."

"Yes!"

"No."

You see, Kyungae was just a little younger than me, her being 14 while I just turned 16 5 months ago. She can be annoying most of the time, but telling from her expression, this was a very serious moment. Her expression was a familiar one. It was the same expression she had when the accident happened.

"Just tell me." I said with a sigh.

"Fine, but it's going to take a while." I let out another sigh.

"Go ahead." I got on my knees and began to look for the cleaning tools under the sink. I heard a sob. I instantly started worrying and quickly stood up. She was always a very strong girl, so hearing that small sob made my gut wrench with worry. I quickly washed my hands and walked over to her and held her chin up with my finger. I looked into her eyes deeply.

"What's wrong, Kyungae?"

"J-JiHoo." More tears started flowing down her cheeks. This turned my worry into anger. JiHoo was a boy bit younger than her, but I still had a bad idea about that kid, regardless of the fact that he was Kyungae's close friend. Although he could be very nice and gentlemanly, he also was a big flirt and occassionally, a jerk. I began to get angry and started clench my fists. "What did he do?" my worried face turned into a face of anger. "H-he said he hates me, and I only ruin everything for him." I was in utter shock, they were best friends for years, then all of a sudden, he hurts her like this? "That fu-" I stopped myself, realizing my words. "What did you do?" I asked, trying to play it off. "I just tried to give him a friendship present, a pretty flower, but his girlfriend saw, and apparently they started to argue about it.. she wants a small break from him now." I instantly hugged her. "Kyungae, it isn't your fault at all. For the most part, it's his girlfriend's for overreacting and not knowing youre his best friend. But it's also JiHoo's for also putting his girlfriend, who he barely got with, before you and gets mad his long-time best friend for something ridiculous." She nodded in agreement, as I handed her a napkin to wipe her tears. "Kyungae." "Yes?" She looked up at me. "Do you have feelings for JiHoo?" She was silent for what seemed 5 minutes, but was probably a few seconds in reality. "I don't know." her words were trembling. I kissed her on the forehead and hugged her. "I hope you can find someone great." I smiled at her reassuringly as she sweetly smiled her beautiful smile back at me. "Just keep your mind straight and I'll talk to JiHoo. Don't worry about it." I gave one more smile. "Thank you so much, Seungtae." "Im always here for you, always." I hugged tighter, then let go. "Now do your homework!" I commanded in a voice mocking that of an asian parent. She started giggling at my imitation. "Okay, bye Oppa!" as she went back up to her room.

..

..

"SEUNGTAE!!" The shriek marked the point in my life where I touched the reality of life.
