Caleb is a mysterious and quiet guy. He appears distant around people and only talks when he has to. He may seem like a trouble maker and a boy with great ego and attitude but in fact, Caleb hates fighting and would avoid any kind of conflict at any cost. For some reason, Caleb has this warm, ­­­­­­­­­­­­almost inviting aura around him that makes people easily attracted to him. Their first impression of Caleb is of someone who has a great ego and is a troublemaker therefore a lot of people often underestimates him. However, even though Caleb holds that cold and disinterested façade, he is a very nice person, open-minded and easy-going. He doesn’t give away his trust easily and takes his time opening up to others because he’s afraid of those he loves or cares about leaving him so he doesn’t want to get too attached to people. Family Background: 
Caleb was born in Seattle, Washington, USA as An Seunghwan on February 29^th 1992. His family was rather messed up but not necessarily dysfunctional. His mother was 10 years younger than his father who was a divorced man with two kids from his first marriage, Caleb’s step-brother Tony and step-sister Sarah. His parents were together for two years before Caleb was born. Caleb was born with a genetic disorder, carried by his mother, called heterochromia which is basically, a lack of pigments in his genes. As a result, Caleb has two eyes of two different colours. He is the only one to have alongside his mother and it has always been bothering him because a lot of people around him found that weird.
Despite the messy family, Caleb had a carefree childhood, growing up in a peaceful neighbourhood with a family that stuck together and loved each other. However, not everything could always be perfect and when he was 10, Caleb’s life turned upside down. His father was a police officer, one of the best in his brigade, and often patrolled the troublesome neighbourhoods around Busan. One night, while he was on a patrol, he got shot and died of a wound as it pierced straight through his lung. There was no way he could survive. Caleb’s mother was devastated and left with her children, unemployed, with no family to go to as she was an orphan. After the death of her husband, Caleb’s mother took her children to Seoul to live with her husband’s sister.
Caleb was always inspired to become a dancer. His biggest inspiration was his step-brother Tony who got scouted as a teenager by a representative of SM Entertainment. His brother was 16 when he moved to Seoul to train to become a member of the famous Kpop boyband H.O.T. Even though he was only 5 at the time, Caleb loved to watch his brother’s music videos and would often dance and sing, sometimes even rap, to H.O.T. songs. He mastered in b-boying, breakdancing and acrobatics. When his family moved to Seoul, Caleb continued to dance and even got into underground dancing battles at the age of 12. He was very talented and soon gained respect and popularity amongst the underground artists. He continued his path to fame through training at SM from the age of 16, and then moving to JIB Entertainment when he was 20.
Caleb got into an accident when he was 19 which caused him to take one year off from training and it triggered his move from SM to JIB. He always loved motorbikes and he couldn’t wait to turn 18 to finally own one. It was his birthday present from his family. Being inexperienced driver, a year later, just before he turned 19, Caleb was on his motorbike and got hit by a van. Falling off the bike, he injured his left shoulder and shoulder blade really badly and he had to undergo surgery. It took him a year to recover and start practicing again. He worked very hard to get back to his previous position when he was accepted into JIB Entertainment.

Trainee Background: 
Caleb has always been a hard worker and even though training under SM was hard, he thought it was worth it. Especially, since after only 2 years of training, Caleb was selected to be one of the TVXQ’s backup dancers. Caleb knew he was on his way to stars and usually ignored all the spiteful looks of the other trainees who despised him for making it big after such a short time of training. Nevertheless, Caleb continued to work hard and actually enjoyed his time, making friends with a small group of other backup dancers as well as TVXQ themselves. However, after his motorcycle accident, Caleb was forced to retreat from training causing SM to lose interest in him as they doubted that his injury might affect his dancing and talent. However, receiving an offer from JIB Entertainment who decided to take him in to train under their label, Caleb decided to take this opportunity and prove that no injury can stop him from reaching his dreams. JIB Entertainment had more friendly surroundings and trainees weren’t as hypocritical as in SM so Caleb didn’t have any trouble fitting in and he actually found training in JIB more enjoyable.

Audition: 
Caleb has been dancing in the undergrounds since he was 12. He was 15 when he was scouted by no other but TVXQ’s Yunho himself. The well-known celebrity suggested Caleb to audition for SM and after quite a lot of pondering, Caleb went for it. When he was auditioning, he sang Cascada's 'Every Time We Touch' and also danced to a couple of H.O.T.’s songs. He had a raw talent that SM was looking for and got accepted rather quickly.
Caleb never auditioned for JIBs. In fact, after being kicked out of SM, JIB management sent Caleb an offer to come and train under them as they were very interested in his talent.
