appearance : Jaehoon has two piercings on each ear. He normally wears studs and hates any form of piercing that dangles. On his back is a tribal tattoo that starts from his trapezius reaching down to close to the bottom of his back. He also has the number 22 in Roman Numerals tattooed on his left pectoral. It is a tribute to Basketball Legend Michael Jordan whos number is 23. 22 signifies that you don't have to try and replicate the best, you just have to be the best you can be.

style : Jaehoon isn't the most stylish person. He tends to choose comfort over style, preferring a simple shirt and jeans over more intricate clothing. He also tends to wear singlets/tanks whenever he can. His style has improved though since becoming a trainee/idol although he still prefers clothes that don't restrict his movement.

personality :  Plain and simple, Jaehoon is a jokester. He just loves making others laugh. Growing up on a farm on the outskirts of Daejeon, Jaehoon was taught to enjoy life and to never over complicate things. He is easily amazed especially by new technology. Some see him as being naive but that doesn't bother him as he is just happy to be where he is. He is very friendly and caring although sometimes he doesn't know if he's being overly friendly and sometimes intrudes on others personal space. People may find him annoying because of this yet even though his intentions are pure.

Being the only child of two poor farmers, Jaehoon was taught to never take anything for granted. He is always thankful for everything from the food he eats to the opportunities he has been given. He loves his parents very much and often sends them letters. He sends them a portion of his earnings each month to help them live more comfortably.

Over all, Jaehoon is a young man who means well and lives simply to enjoy life as he experiences it.

background : Jaehoon is a farmers boy at heart. Though he now lives in the bustling city of Seoul, he is still a countryman through and through. He grew up on a farm on the edge of Daejeon. Through out his childhood he was taught how to work the farm, handle animals and to never be ungrateful to anything he was given in life.

One day when he was working in the fields, an entertainment CEO happened to hear him singing as he drove pass. The CEO was so impressed that he jumped out of his car and spoke to Jaehoon, asking  him if he wanted to become an idol. The CEO then introduced himself to Jaehoon's parents as SM Entertainment CEO Kim Young Min. He then said to them that he wanted Jaehoon to become part of SM's latest project because he was so amazed at Jaehoon's voice. Although his parents wanted Jaehoon to stay at the farm and in turn, inherit it, they consented as they wanted their son to experience a more luxurious life. A week later, Jaehoon left for Seoul to begin training as an idol.

training life : Jaehoon found the transition from the farm to the city both exciting and difficult. Although he had quite an amazing voice, he wasn't the best dancer and was barely a pass when he began. One of his biggest difficulties was to stop speaking in the Chungcheong dialect. It took him nearly a year to get used to speaking differently though sometimes he still blurts out words in his original dialect. Slowly through the two years he steadily improved in all aspects of being an idol and has gotten used to living in the city.
