Racism?

So here I was reading tumblr when I saw this post saying about Yesung's picture together with Ryeowook and Eunhyuk commenting about it racist


Am I the only one that doesn't get that at all? o.o

In my opinion Yesung simply cosplayed of the character chosen by him and took a picture since he was unable to be together with the rest of the members, to which Ryeowook and Eunhyuk simply replied

 

No really. Am i the one naive or aren't that person overreacting? o.o

edit: Now I saw someone saying for Ryeowook to not encourage that. Again encourage what? OTL

 

maybe my brain isn't working due to the lack of sleep? I asked my friend he didn't understand either lol

Well first I was like you too, because I really think it was a cosplay O.O but then I goggled this:

And now I know why they are all pissed off...
Personal, I didn't knew something like that existed. I knew about racism, other thing that are in the article, but about 'blackface' never. I never knew that you can't put a color of the skin that your character have.
And to let people talk that Yesung was ignorant, for me he simply didn't know O.o Ignorant is really harsh word in my country -_-

Black face was use to mock black people during the slavery days by white people. As a person who is part black, i'm not offended. Yes, he could of done it differently but It was just part of his cosplay. I just don't understand why he is getting death threats and being called racists only when he was just cosplaying a character that happens to be black. He actually loves his character he's portraying...
