→ Ara was born in Seoul, South Korea. But due to her grandparent's wish, they moved to Verona, Italy when she was about 6 months old. Her parents opened a music class for kids, which was really successful. When she was 3, her younger sister was born. That was when she started showing her maturity and ability to take care of others. When Ara turned 5, she started ballet lessons under her aunt's influences. She dreamed to become a pretty ballerina, but that went away when she started playing piano,guitar and sing at the age of 7.
→ Ara then discovered kpop through her aunt, she then started to enter kpop cover contest and other talent contests. She won first place in kids singing competition held at Korean Festival. At the age of 9, she started to make videos of her singing and dancing. She uploaded to YouTube with the help of her aunt and gain popularity through it. how did you become a trainee : When i moved to Seoul with my Aunt, she sent most of recents videos of my singing and dancing to YG,SM,JYP and also Pledis. We waited for months until JYP first contacted me to go audition, and i did. I made it to the second round but failed in the final. I kept going to every label company to audition with no luck, after a year of trying. My parents called me to come home. But on that same day, i performed lived at my Aunt's Dance Studio opening and one of my aunt's friends were working for Pledis Ent and he approaches me after i sang and asked me to come in audition. I hesitate at first but my aunt said to me "never let go of any opportunity, every failure or experiences is the only way we improve" with that i went to audition and made it to finals. But then another long months of silence, Pledis finally called and told me i'm in.

→ Ara was selected as the girls team to practices with SEVENTEEN on 17tv. Ara was the eldest of the girls and noona/subae to the boys. At first he figures out that she is one of Hansol's good friend, and started hanging out with her. He was attracted to her smile and her maturity, Ara was interested in him too at first but that was also when she met the pretty hoobae,Im Yeon Hee. Who's obviously in love with him and always gets in the way. She always interrupt their conversations, and sometimes she competes herself with Ara and tries to impress the boys.
