hallo, there.

Today, in case some of you didn't know, is the Day of Silence.

It's something done by the LGBT (lesbian, gay, biual, transgender) community and their allies for a whole day, or at least the entire time at school, in order to--

well, GLSEN's explanation might be a little better than mine. Here:

"Please understand my reasons for not speaking today. I am participating in the Day of Silence, a national youth movement bringing attention to the silence faced by lesbian, gay, biual, and transgender people and their allies. My deliberate silence echoes that silence, which is caused by anti-LGBT bullying, name-calling, and harassment. I believe that ending the silence is the first step toward building awareness and making a commitment to address these injustices.

Think about the voices you ARE NOT hearing today.

In other words, all of those people have been silenced, forced to keep quiet about their uality/etc for fear of being harrassed by their peers or treated differently in any form at all, we are supporting all of those people. We are representing them, we are, through our silence, telling them that we are here for you.

For me, the school day is already over, and probably for some of you, too, or at least it will be by the time you read this, but next year, I hope that you will participate. I hope that you will understand.

Thank you so much for reading this.

On a side note: for all of you in Boston, or near Boston, or have family/friends in Boston...I hope that everyone is safe. I hope that none of you are personally affected or injured. Stay safe, okay?

On another side note: I am god awfully sorry for not updating anything, ever. OTL I've had a bit of a writer's block kind of thing...I'll try my best to update something soon. I did recently put up a chapter for Freedom's Call, so check that out. ^^;

Again, thank you! :)
