I want to honestly say, that I am a writer who goes around and tells people to fix their grammar.

Now, I'm not saying that my grammar is perfect but when it comes to writing things I am an extreme perfectionist. So much, that I hate my own writing. I just post because I feel bad for not updating.

I go around fixing other people's mistakes because I'm too judgmental on my own work.

Also, if you do see me commenting on your story about your grammar it won't be harsh. I took classes on critiquing. I know how to critique. I am extremely positive, and my main motive is for people to understand the English language better. Because let's face it, English is a stupid language with really stupid rules that you would never understand unless you're a native. Trust me, you think you know English, but you don't. I catch myself writing in Elizabethan and I get readers who ask what the hell is 'thy' or 'tarry'.

Okay, I should stop my rant.

The EXO category has the WORST written fics? Oh GOD. That really frustrates me. So,basically, isn't she/he saying that Baby's Breath,Then Came You,and etc. bad? Seriously? Really? Just keep it to yourself. None of us EXOtics want to hear the liquid poop spilling out of your mouth. Seriously.

the fact that this thing even exists makes me laugh in that mildly psychotic way xD people got nothing better to do with their time! gahdamnit.

the one that irks me is the idea that this place is a popularity contest. it's only a contest if the author sees it that way. if they think their personal worth or the quality of their fic is determined by subs or votes or features, well, they are the ones assuming its a popularity contest AND they are SADLY, HORRIFYINGLY MISTAKEN XD as a rule, the majority of the fics i've read which are 'popular' - meaning thousands of subs or hundreds of votes - are exceptionally poor pieces of writing but genius in terms of featuring flat, relatable characters in an easily digestible plot, written in simple language. it's basically weekday afternoon cartoons versus primetime drama, junkfood vs filet mignon. if the major demographic is teenaged at most, you bet your bottom dollar there'll be a lot more people watching cartoons and eating junkfood instead of watching a drama whilst having their filet mignon. it makes SENSE for the site, but it doesn't make those stories good pieces of writing. but then, it all depends on how you slice it. most people are here for a 'fix', a narrower demographic are here to use AFF as a direct to audience writing platform to hone their skills. again, just a result of the age group and maturity level of the average user.

anywayyyy, being ancient compared to most of the people on this site, these things are clear as day to me, BUT it's not intuitive to younger folks, and understandably - it's a highschool mentality from...well...highschoolers xD i really can't blame them for it!

moral of the story is, if someone wants to be a real author, dont rely on AFF subscriber/viewcount to justify your skill, or you will be setting your bar so low you'll NEVER get published. if someone wants to just write fics and get some feedback - well then, SHUT UP AND WRITE FFS XD your sub/view count should not matter OTL

"authors who request from graphic shops shouldn't be writing because if they cant even make their own poster, that means they cant even write." LMAOOOO I READ THAT ONCE I FACEPALMED LIKE FIVE TIMES OMG SOME PEOPLE ON AFF ARE LMAOO IM NOT EVEN GOING TO SAY IT BUT THEY DONT HAVE ANY LOGIC

I get annoyed when ppl complain about mpreg, just don't read it. I bet they're all homophobics like atleast 60% I swear lmao sorry/

It's true about the grammar thing, though. And Mpreg too *shudders a bit* I mean, if you want to read Mpreg go ahead, just don't get it anywhere near me.

And yeah, comments are good for motivation. But it always annoyed me that the featured story on this site is usually really, really ____ty. I mean occasionally there are good ones, but most of the time they :/

Some authors really want comments because that's what gives them the motivation to write. It's not that they want fame or anything, they or shall I say we, just want to know what the readers think about our stories. One of the reasons why authors write is because they want someone to read, and to know that someone actually read the story is through comments.

That's my side. Just saying.

That cliche one pissed me off. I have a lot of those. Like mu stories machine and Insane. The only reason that story is still going is because everytime i say it gunna end people jump down my throat ._. Like I NEED cliches now. I cant think of so many things... Like the age thing too. People find everything to ____ about I swear.
LuckyJune #13
The last one is bad. And about the hate on long a/n is annoying, I though you were ranting on how the readers don't care about the authors? Authors have feelings too, why can't they write a/n? Just skip it if it's annoying. Meh
