Taekson is a mysterious and quiet guy. He appears distant around people and only talks when he has to. He may seem like a trouble maker and a boy with great ego and attitude but in fact, Taekson hates fighting and would avoid any kind of conflict at any cost. For some reason, Taekson has this warm, ­­­­­­­­­­­­almost inviting aura around him that makes people easily attracted to him. Their first impression of Taekson is of someone who has a great ego and is a troublemaker therefore a lot of people often underestimate him. However, even though Taekson holds that cold and disinterested façade, he is a very nice person, open-minded and easy-going. He doesn’t give away his trust easily and takes his time opening up to others because he’s afraid of those he loves or cares about leaving him so he doesn’t want to get too attached to people. An Taekson was born as Byun Taekson in Vancouver, Canada to a 18-year-old single mother. His father didn’t know anything about his existence until his mother moved back to Seoul when Taekson was 10.
His parents were only teenagers when they met as trainees in no other than SM Entertainment. They fell for each other and dated for a while. His father was already training to become an idol when Taekson’s m other found out she was pregnant with his child. She didn’t dare to abort the child but she didn’t want to ruin her boyfriend’s career either. So without saying anything, she left to Vancouver to live with her sister, where she gave birth and raised Taekson.
Taekson was born with a genetic mutation called heterochromia which basically causes him to lack pigments in his genes. His grandmother had it, according to his mother and auntie. As a result, he has two eyes of different colours. Taekson was often picked on because of that. Some kids found it interesting but many found it freaky. Growing up fatherless wasn’t easy for Taekson either. He felt like something was missing as he would always see other children playing with their male idol when he only had his mother and his aunt. Nevertheless, he had a relatively normal childhood. His mother and aunt worked hard to provide for them but always had time for Taekson and he respected that. He had friends but only one was his best friend, Wu Fan a.k.a. Kevin Wu. Taekson liked to call him Kris whereas Kris was the person who first named Taekson as Sony.
Within his first 10 years of life, Taekson’s father somehow got in contact with his mother and for the first time, his mother mustered up some courage to tell his father about Taekson. Since his father wasn’t into showbiz as much as he was before, there weren’t many problems with scandals about a national Korean star having an illegitimate child. So his mother took Taekson back to Korea where he met his father for the first time. His father accepted him and his name got changed into An Taekson but one thing didn’t make sense to Taekson. If his father accepted him than why didn’t he marry his mother as well? Why didn’t he live with them in their small apartment in Seoul? Why did he come to their home on a regular basis but then went back to his own apartment in Gangnam? And why didn’t he ever take Taekson out for some father-son time? Didn’t his father want a family? Taekson was a very smart 10-year-old and he quickly realized that his father was afraid of the media finding out that he has an illegitimate child which was born when Taekson’s parents were merely 18. His father spent time with him, making up for the ten years that he didn’t know about Taekson’s existence and he was a very sweet and caring father. But Taekson did feel distant to his father not because of the 10 years gap but because of the fact that even though he had a father now, he had to pretend to still be fatherless. Since then, Taekson’s life revolved around secrets and keeping to himself. Except when it came to his new friend, Kara. Taekson didn’t want to make any friends because he didn’t want to disappoint his dad if he revealed their secret but Kara was persistent and very smart. She realized it on her own and she is the only person who knows about Taekson’s father.
New town brought new life, and since moving to Seoul, Taekson realized why his nickname was Sony. Taekson always loved singing and dancing, but when he moved to Seoul, he discovered that he has good rapping skills as well. He would often practice dancing in Canada with his friend Kris and because he didn’t some gymnastics as a child, he found himself easily getting into b-boying, breakdancing and acrobatics. Dancing, singing and rapping where Taekson’s main focus for the next couple of years. When he turned 14, he started getting into underground dance battles where he quickly gained respect amongst other underground artists because of his outstanding moves and friendly nature. He also started getting offers from different entertainment companies to train under them, there were even Cube, JYP and YG offering him traineeships. But Taekson refused them all, considering himself still too young for showbiz.
However, when SM offered him a traineeship, he didn’t hesitate to accept. One reason, his father used to train under SM. His father didn’t know that Taekson was into dancing yet alone auditioned for SM. His father had a company of his own and would probably offer his son a traineeship if he knew. But Taekson would probably turn that offer down as well. He wanted to prove himself to his father, that he doesn’t have to be ashamed of his own son. His mother knew of his passion for dancing and to become an idol but she didn’t know about the grudge Taekson had against his father. So Taekson worked hard, trying to climb on top of the scale amongst competitive trainees. He used fair ways as he worked hard. He made a lot of enemies but met new friends as well. He also met his friend from Canada Kris, who appeared to be a trainee there as well. When he started performing as a backup dancer for TVXQ, he knew he was close to the stars. His father realized that there was a familiar face amongst the performers and realizing it was his son, he was angry and hurt at first to hear his son was training under SM. But after the accident that Taekson went through soon after, his father let go of that grudge and realized that his son needs his support more than anything in the world.
Taekson had a fascination with motorbikes since the young age. He was always dream to have one. And he couldn’t wait to turn 18 to get a license and own one. He got one as a birthday present from his mother and auntie, who came down from Canada just for his 18^th. He enjoyed it but being inexperienced motorbike driver, a year later, soon after his 19^th birthday, Taekson got into an accident and injured his right leg. It wasn’t a very bad injury but it was broken open, he had to undergo a surgery which caused him to drop out of SM. It took him a year to recover and start practicing again. He worked even harder to get back to his previous position when he was accepted into Skydrop Entertainment. His father was going to take him into his company but Taekson refused, knowing his father’s fears and thinking that his father was doing it only out of pity.

Taekson was only 15 when he was scouted at one of his dance battles. Even before this, he was getting offers but would often decline them because he just didn’t feel ready to be a part of showbiz. But when he realized it was an SM representative suggesting him to audition for SM Entertainment, Taekson decided to give it a try. 
He was eagerly accepted into SM and trained hard for the first two years. Managers at SM noticed his outstanding talent and eagerness to improve so just at the start of his third year of training, it was decided for Taekson to be a backup dancer for TVXQ. Being a trainee was hard. Being constantly bullied by other trainees and often being yelled at by the trainers, but after being put amongst the backup dancers for the famous TVXQ, Taekson had it even harder. Not that he really cared, he was used to it. Besides, he had the dream and he was determined to reach it. He somewhat enjoyed his time at SM though, as that's where he made some good friends.
Unfortunately, his dreams were shattered when he was 19. He got into an accident with his motorbike and he injured his knee. Not too badly, but he did have to undertake an opperation and take a whole year off of training. However, when he was resting, he got a message from SM that he wouldn't train under SM anymore as his injury might affect his improvement. Feeling dissapointed and depressed, Taekson didn't even want to continue training at all but with the encourangement from his mother and his friends, even his own father, he decided to audition for Skydrop Entertainment.
