☁ BEHIND THE MASK .

personality   What the fans know : Seo Hyunjung, more commonly known as Jung, radiates confidence, charm, and intelligence: she truly is a beautiful person, both inside and out. She's a girl with spunk and wit, and people can't help but admire her for that. She can take charge and is very driven; if you want something done, she'll get it done. Jung is very collected and is the poster child of organization. Strongwilled and adroit, it would seem that there isn't anything she can't do. She can take control of almost any situation and conversation. She's sweet and pleasant; just by talking, she can make someone's heart skip a beat. From her smile, to her laugh, and even to the way she walks, she's alluring and lovable. The fact that she knows how to work aegyo to her advantage. She's generally pretty humble, but she has learned that having a pretty face can help her get what she wants; in minscule ways, she's conceited and manipulative. Open and friendly, people are naturally drawn to Jung, just how a butterfly is drawn to the nectar of flowers. She's lively, upbeat, and witty, making her even more fun to be around.  Her cunning ways of thinking have helped her adjust to the ways of the world and she generally knows how to make the best out of any decision. She's been through enough to be wise enough to give good advice; Jung is extremely reliable in this sense.

What the fans don't know There are many sides to Jung, making it both exciting and tiring to be her friend. She's optimistic, but realistic, and she's levelheaded, but convivial. On good days, Jung is a ball of energy: she's always laughing, talking, moving, anything that burns calories (which is essentially everything, but she's not exactly that hyper). Just her presence makes people happy. She hates to sit around and waste time: she's dynamic and has a bit of a wild side (without getting too crazy). It doesn't show much, but she can be a bit of a rebel. If she thinks the time is right and everyone deserves a bit of entertainment, she'll sneak out and drag two to five other people with her. She likes to go out and have fun with her friends; confinement isn't healthy. Making jokes (or a prank), partying, just hanging out – it's all in good fun. She's young and she's going to live her life, but she's smart enough to not get herself in the ER while doing so.

This girl, while generally very civil and kind, has a sarcastic streak and can pick up a dry sense of humor in an instant. She's nice to everyone, but she always picks on her friends; some jokingly call her a bully. Jung loves to incessantly tease those that she loves and as a person who is actually quite touchy, she enjoys wrestling her friends or creeping them out by running her fingers down their backs when they least expect it. Such actions have caused her friends to call her weird and creepy, but her reaction is always the same: "everyone is weird in their own way." As suprisingly odd as she is, she's a very good friend. Jung is more affectionate than "weird" and she loves to give hugs. She' s trustworthy and honest (sometimes she's too honest). Jung is a person is never upset, but if someone hurts a friend of hers, she immediately goes on offense. In a way, she's like a mother bear: vicious when her cubs are threatened. In this case, her friends are her cubs.

Jung has never been the type get angry. Sure, she'll get irritated or a little cross, but her labelmates at TS can count on one hand as to how many types she's actually lost her temper. Jung actually does all that she can to refrain herself from getting mad because once she snaps, she's in a bad mood for the rest of the day (and possibly the next day); she doesn't react well to negativity (jealousy is even worse). The same goes for stress; even though she may be "miss perfect", she has her limits. There is only so much she can handle before she snaps. Unfortunately, dealing with stress is difficult as she is a perfectionist by nature. If she's not good at something or something isn't working out, she'll whatever she can to make it as good as possible. Even though she can hold out for a long time, she'll end up with a meltdown if she doesn't take it easy. While it takes a lot for her to lose her temper, she cries quite easily; Jung is far from being made out of steel. She cries when she watches sad movies, when she knows she won't be able to see a close one for a long time, when she listens to a song that moves her, when she can't stop fangirling about her favorite band (this only happens when she's alone or around people she would willingly entrust with her life), etc. Sticks and stones may break her bones, but band members will make her cry. Yes, it's embarrassing and a little unprofessional, but she will never cease to have a mini heart attack whenever she sees her favorite celebrities; she keeps it a secret, but she can be a die-hard fangirl.

style  Jung dresses chicly with a kind of feeling; she doesn't get crazy. Her wardrobe is very diverse; she can pull of different styles, from hipster to streetstyle to something along high fashion. She doesn't limit what colors she wears and she loves to accessorize with a watch, earrings, hair clip, or sunglasses, but she rarely goes overboard. She's always been a fan of creepers, round sunglasses, Doctor Martens, and any other old school fashion items that have made a comeback. She likes beanies, loose tanks, short dresses (not too short), Vans, jeans, and whatever's comfortable and stylish. She absolutely adores Boy London and Chrome Hearts. When she goes out is a whole other story. She will go all out to look good: make-up, jewelry, five-inch heels, the works. For parties, she likes glitter, studs, leather, etc. Lately, people have noticed that she's leaning towards a "punk" kind of feeling.

background ㅡ Seo Hyunjung was born as the only child of a family of three in Goyang, South Korea. Her parents were strict and held high expectations of her; she was their trophy child. They took great pride in their only daughter and raised her to do everything to the best of her abilities. Even when she was in elementary school, she was pushed to do well and throughout her entire career as a student, she was within the top five of her class. Her parents enrolled her in piano lessons when she was five, and from when she was a toddler and until middle school, she was a model. During high school, her parents enrolled her in cram school, had her practicing piano one to two hours every day, and had her take voice lessons, all on top of going to regular school. When she reached her second year of high school, she began to rebel from her parents more: they would get into big arguments and she would skip school (and often take a train into Seoul) in order for them to realize that she wanted them to back off. She stopped going to cram school, had one voice lesson every two weeks, practiced piano when she could for as long as she could, and still maintained her high class ranking. With the extra time, she did things she'd always wanted to do, like learn how to play the guitar. She'd always had an interest in music, but her interest grew when her parents had given her more freedom. She went from wanting to be an attorney to wanting to pursue music. She took an interest in the R&B and hip hop cultures of South Korea and America and took to making a YouTube account to upload covers and originals (from this, she gained a little fame among Korean hip hop and R&B artists). She went on to study music (specifically piano and voice) at Chung Ang University in Seoul. When she was nineteen, she auditioned for Starship Entertainment and was accepted. One year later, she moved to TS Entertainment.

☁ LOVE ME, LOVE ME .

best friends
Go Nayoung | 23 | Dancer for TS Entertainment | composed - shy - graceful - straightforward | Jung and Nayoung have been friends since high school. The two balance each other out; Nayoung keeps Jung grounded and from partying too hard, while Jung gets Nayoung out of the dance studio and gets her to open up to other people more. They're incredibly close and can act as if they had just seen each other, even if they had actually last seen each other two weeks ago.
Song Jieun | 22 | Main vocalist and dancer of Secret | social - self confident - lighthearted - intuitive | The two get along famously; they are TS Entertainment's "happy viruses". When together, they're always giggling and they tell each other everything. To Jung, Jieun is the little sister she never had and they always take care of each other. Fun fact: when they see each other, they usually end up getting something to eat.
friends ㅡ
Jay Park (Park Jaebum) | 25 | Soloist + former member of 2PM | lively - mischeivous - audacious - charismatic | Jay is actually Jung's ex-boyfriend; they dated for four months in 2010, but broke up because they had a rather awkward relationship as a couple. They hang out a lot and he's always picking on her and she's always picking on him. Since he's such a nice person, Jung sometimes goes to him when she's stressed or has something on her mind.
Kim Himchan | 22 | Rapper + visual of B.A.P. | conceited - childish - stubborn - playful | Jung is basically Himchan's second older sister, even though he'd prefer to only have one. She nags at him quite a lot and they, in general, say incredibly mean things to each other (hey, friendly verbal abuse), but they look out for each other and take care of each other.
Kim Hyojung (Hyolyn) | 22 | Main vocalist + dancer of Sistar | humble - sarcastic - talkative - straightforward | Jung admires Hyojung and the opposite is true as well. When they were both trainees, they would sneak out to parties together or get scolded during practices for talking too much. Since Sistar's debut, they haven't talked much, but when they see each other, it's as if they were talking on the phone only an hour before.

love interest  Lee Howon (Hoya) of Infinite.
personality ㅡ modest - shrewd - sarcastic - easygoing
how you guys met  They actually met in March of 2011, backstage at KBS Music Bank. Jung had tagged along with Jieun and Yongguk to support their promotions of "Going Crazy". While she had gone out to get a snack, he nearly walked into her and apologized. They came across each other again when she was going back to the dressing room. They talked for a little bit and exchanged phone numbers, leading to their friendship.
relationship ㅡ Having been friends for two years, they have developed a close relationship. Howon may be her sunbae in the music industry, but she is his noona by two years; she loves to use this to her advantage. It is a known fact that Howon has had a crush on her since they met, but Jung is unsure of what to do with her feelings. He hasn't exactly been pursuing her, but he's been by her side all this time; he almost caters to her every whim, even when she insists she can do something herself. She's very comfortable with him and they have a rather cute and playful relationship, despite his rather seemingly aloof personality.

rival  Yoon Bora ㅣ 23 ㅣ Main rapper + main dancer of Sistar ㅣ tenacious - energetic - vain - moody
relationship ㅡ Jung and Bora had been trainees at Starship Entertainment and they had made attempts to be friends, but they could never see eye to eye. There had been a rumor that Jung was a likely candidate to take Bora's spot in Sistar, but Jung left before anything else could happen. There was always tension between them and even now they have trouble getting along. Towards the end of Jung's time at Starship, Bora had been quite hostile around her and Jung has never been able to really get over that.

☁ REPRESENTING THE SKY .

stage name  Jung
persona  golden girl | refreshing artist
fanclub name  Honey Bees/Hyunie Bees
fanclub colors ㅡ   #CD5555
position ㅡ lead vocalist + sub rapper
backup position  jack of all trades
training years ㅡ 4 years
training history  Originally a trainee under Starship Entertainment, she joined TS Entertainment in 2009 after she was found by a talent scout. She preferred the atmosphere of that record label to her original label, and transferred as soon as she was officially accepted. She was welcomed by other trainees and quickly became popular among them as she was fun to be around and younger trainees admired her for her talent. Her Secret sunbaes got along with her pretty well and they knew that she would be an official label mate one day. During her first year there, she went to practices at least once a week since she was busy with school. The following years, she took training more seriously and attended practices almost every day; she also took time off from school to be able to do this.
