On stage, she turns the swag on. Not afraid to have fun, it isn't surprising to find her head banging away with her tongue stuck out. Though this contrasts to her delicate and gentle appearance, many whom know her very well all shake their head at her outgoing personality and hyper attitude. Those who aren't really familiar at her would be appalled at her behavior. She believes that she is the coolest with sunglasses on and her favorite 'glam' accessories (which she has a huge obsession with) hung around her everywhere. People say that if she pops while she raps, it's like seeing a combination of Minzy and CL. 

On variety, she is known as the one who doesn't care much about her image. Suddenly doing hip s as a celebratory gesture, laughing out loud and not stopping until a few minutes later, annoying the leader as far as to getting punished later on, acting like a boy with swag in front of the camera, or revealing things that shouldn't have been revealed on TV, she's your girl. Aegyo doesn't annoy her. Heck, most of the time she does it to annoy her unnies. On stage, she doesn't really care because what she really cares about is that the fans enjoy their aegyo. She tries her best to invent new aegyo tricks and moves so she gets mistaken as a mirror queen. But really, she's trying hard to please the fans with newer aegyo. With the members on stage, she will act accordingly to the concept. However, when she is dancing, no longer is she cute. She can dance cutely but she rarely does it since she knows that dancing cutely wasn't what made her survive trainee life. She still does it when asked though. She only shows aegyo to her friends though and maybe strangers if she wants to get to know them. And for fan service she does a lot of skinship and acts goofy and cute too. Sometimes throwing hearts, saying greasy stuff, blowing a kiss, shooting winks, or playing around with the other members, she does it all to satisfy her fans. But the one-two punch combination she always uses (which almost always works): Aegyo + Skinship = Kyuna is a champion!

Background: 

On April 3rd, 1996, a new life entered earth. All the signs pointed to a boy and so the baby was named Dae Hyun. It wasn't until they looked at the gender, did they realize their mistake. He was a she. At a loss, they had no choice but to let her live her life like this. She grew up in Jeonju, North Jeolla, South Korea for two years before moving to Dallas, Texas because of her father's job. There, she gained the name Elizabeth Im. For ten years she lived there happily, conversing with her friends. However she still had to travel around. She came along with the family whereever they went. They went to France, Spain, Greece, Hong Kong, China, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Phillipines, Australia, England, Ireland, and even Brazil. They didn't live there long but at least a week or two. She didn't get much friends though. When she was twelve, she moved to Osaka, Japan. There, she lived for two years under the name of Hikari (Light). And then when she was fourteen, it was back to South Korea. Throughout her years, she has gained the love of dance and has been in various dance schools. Gymnastics was one of them.

In elementary school, she was quiet because of the language barrier. She slowly opened up though as she got comfortable with the language. It wasn't filled with utter horror but elementary school was normal for her. She attended it like a normal girl save for the travelling around. In middle school, she was more cheerful because she actually thought she was going to stay. But in her first year of middle school, she was immediately moved to Osaka, Japan. And there it goes. Her friends in America were inconsistent and only contacted her once or twice and after that, it seemed as if they forgot about her. In Japan, there was that language barrier again. She didn't make much friends but luckily she was in International School. She continued dance though. And just when she got the hang of the language she moved again. This time back to South Korea but in Seoul. This depressed her more and she didn't make much Japanese friends or foreign friends in the international school. However, as she started high school at SOPA, she was regularly teased good naturedly for her name but she took that to heart and thought everyone hated her. Except for Se Hun who helped her along but he was in his last year of SOPA and would no longer be there after graduation. But thankfully she met Zelo who kept her in check. It was hard to balance trainee life and school but she managed barely.

Well, first of all, Kyuna already knew she was slowly falling in love with him but she disregarded it as a crush. However, the more time they spent around each other and the more Zelo became obvious of his feelings, she fall too hard for her. It started when she first met him but she thought it was just infatuation and she couldn't deny that he was handsome. However it grew and grew and one day, it just clicked and she knew she couldn't escape anymore. No matter how hard she tried to avoid him, he was too determined to find out why. It took a few quarrels, shouts and screams, cold glares, and spiteful words, but after a while, Kyuna gave up and allowed herself to love. At first she was afraid that if they didn't work out, their friendship would be destroyed and afraid that she would mess it up because she was a newbie at love but slowly she didn't care anymore and just cherished the times she was with him.

How did you become a trainee: 

It was just a regular day when she was exploring Seoul alone. She came across a poster that was folded and crumpled despite being pinned on the wall. In its state, nobody could see its contents without opening it and fixing it. Curiosity overwhelmed her and she unfolded the poster to find that it was calling for auditions at this company. She thought hey, why not? Just for fun and it would look good on my resume to university. So she took the poster and practiced for the audition day. Finally it came and she was having second thoughts on her way to the building. She was getting worried and nervous however she continued on and went for it. There was only five people there for the audition including her. Three of them did singing and one of them danced. The one who danced was way better than her and she thought that maybe she would get accept. Imagine her shock when she recieved a letter of acceptance in the mail a week later.

Was your trainee experience good?Why?:

It was hard of course. She had to balance school and training. She stayed in the dorms because commuting from home to company was too much of a hassle. She wasn't bullied but more like teased playfully for her name (which ended up with a lot of emotional moments). The only good things were that she could dance 24/7 and that she got an alternate name that she intended to stick to: Kyuna. Despite being Korean, she was fairly new to kpop. Deciding not to embarrass herself whenever the girls gossiped about the latest kpop news, she did research on her own and became the ultimate SM-biased, Inspirit, Baby, A+ fan and YG-biased. And because of that, she tried to audition for YG (hoping to get transfered there) and Woollim. Though she failed, she stuck to the company she was originally in.

Pre-Debut: 

• She did cameo in Unstoppable Marriage as a bystander at a playground.
• She also was in an underground dance group in Korea before she was accepted as a trainee.
