My Fisrt Time at Guangzhou (backpack Travelling) Clueless Part 1

This is pure stupid I mean no one post a travelling blog (2012) at (2013) that’s just crazy!

People would say, “hey Ara are you sure you remembering everything? You’re really forgetful!” Damn straight I’m 100% absent-minded maybe or slight induced of alzhemier (I mostly forget the little things) But, dude! This is your once in life time memory! How could you forget like that?!

Anyway before I go any further ado, I’m not Chinese which has no idea about Chinese language (except I have some basic conversation which I’m very at it, thank you) Well is just like when you set a pre-debut Tao speaking with Maniac Talkative Park Chanyeol in a conversation and ended up like duck and chicken talking(?) Proverb I guess so.

It was super totally clueless and I’d no idea what I’d been through! I even cried and feel a bit homesick in Guangzhou. (Embarrassed)

What places had you went?

Guangzhou is mainly called the international trading district. (Kris' hometown? LOL)

The first time I arrived is at the Guangzhou airport (Obviously) There’s nothing special about it but the feelings I had that time was, I don’t know what I’m going to say or I’d no idea what was going on! Everything is in Chinese characters I couldn’t understand. Now I feel how is to be a foreigner (LOL)

The next place is of course my accommodation. It’s not that luxury or fancy, we’re going to stay for a week and plenty of shopping to go which it’s part of saving money. I can’t remember the location of the hotel. The hotel’s name is VJ (don’t ask me what) well in my opinion is not that very bad place because you came here for the Guangzhou and stuff not a luxury hotel and it save money!

About this hotel based on my experience, it has a spa, a convenient store, a stationery store (?), free of charge of internet and friendly employees! (this one time a housekeeper greet us so friendly and nice, I never met this kind of situation before this.) The dining stuff—I don’t eat at the hotel because it’ll be too expensive so we decided to eat at some local restaurant.

I’m seriously don’t read or understand Chinese characters. No kidding. This restaurant we went down the street near the hotel. They have delicious and mouth watering dishes! (Travel tips: when you went to China always and make sure to eat their traditional and their symbolic food) The taste is very different and the feelings when eat at China is just give the great pleasure!

For all shopaholic and fashion trend or stylist or you’re the another life of Xi Luhan and Huang Zitao, this place I guarantee your shopping dream had come true (seriously I almost died because the clothes and stuff) To be frankly this place seemed like a wannabe New York. But The Beijing (like Luhan say is the best) is far more interesting and awesome brand shops, boutiques and all.

New York (China ver.)

This place kept a history inside. The revolutions of Beijing Lu where they kept and protected the road they built and used for daily domestic since century (The Dynasty History) until now. If you look at it the depth of the road before it's really deep from where we are standing. I vaguely understand its history better search at Google, OK (I’m a bad tourist guide)

The Beijing road

Beijing Lu has so much branded and top fashion designer you don’t wanna miss! From expensive to cheap, Gucci, Giordano, Guess, Uniqlo, Adidas, and much much more! (it’s so big I think I would got myself lost)

Since I went to Guangzhou during cold season (winter does not really happened here ) they sold various of winter clothes. And it’s JJANG!! I bought a lot of sweaters and hoodies! Their designs and choices are wide and variety of it but sadly in my country doesn’t have winter so it would be a waste if I bought a cute winter coat or a very thick sweatshirt. If I supposed to gives rates I would give 9/10 their fashion is similar to Korea and Japan but not overly vogues and not too flashy which that’s my style. It’s simple, cute and casual for all ages.

They’ve shopping complex and food stall and nice home-environment restaurant. I didn’t go any of it. I just only bought bubble tea and some snacks because later on my dad brought us to a special place for dinner.

As I said Dad brought us dinner at Xiao Bei Lu, (I can’t help to call it Xiao Lu you know, LUHAN!) About this place, it’s the part of Guangzhou where it’s the place of ethnic Hui and Ethnic DongXian or any of it (not so sure OK) I’d a funny story about this place—when we’re going to the restaurant that my Dad recommended us we just passed by a shop which is kind of explicit and public ( shop)

That is very awkward. Have a nice vacation with your parents and on your way for a nice dinner and you just gonna to see this stupid shop with s on the display. Not what I expected.
Forget that! The restaurant we went was Salam. It have the combination of Turkish, Chinese and the ethnic dishes. The environment is very luxurious and the price is not that expensive. Total price of my dinner is around RM 60 (20 USD). I ate fried dumpling, Baozi (LOL), steamed dumpling and lots of Chinese food which is crazy and full!

After that we went the night market at the same place. They sold vegetables and fruits, clothes, souveniers and foods and more. I love their breads very much! It’s fresh and hot straight out from the oven! Besides that, they have traditional snacks and sweets (I couldn’t buy because there’s beeline of customers and it’s very crowded!)

The Next day we went to The one link plaza. It’s an international wholesale. You can by retail or wholesale (if you have a business) This place is immensely and freakin huge! It’s so big a cramped with many good stuff at cheap price! You don’t know how suffered I was, internally mentally struggle with my stupid and limitless desires! Even though you have a limitless credit card you won’t finish shopping and satisfied. ORZ

Stuff they sold household, gifts, toys, painting, accessories, teddy bears (handmade) and much much much more. Evrything you want is there, except clothes.

The plaza closed around 6.30 p.m.

Other place I went for the continuous day is Nanfang building. It sold electronics only! Still they sold phone and electronic s accessories! I bought Iphone cases (3) they’ve a lot of customize and designs! And they’re very dazzling! (LOL)

Example iphone cases they sold

They sold a lot of fake electronics (that’s why is cheap) but you still can get the original just tell the Boss, OK!

Looks a bit not so modern??

And the last place I went (Friday 14th December 2012) (LOL) It’s kinda morning market (?) It’s only available on Friday. The location is in front of my hotel it’s Abi Waqqas Mosque (behind the mosque) The place is beautiful with gardens and their market behind the mosque—sold scrumptious and edible and unique food.

There’s this place near the hotel area where the sold wholesale bags, leather, and wallets. It’s another bonus about this Guangzhou!
