Something on my mind...
What interests people to read stories? Fanfics?
The plot. The characters.
What makes a good fanfic?
The characters. The conflict.
But everyday I see the same old plot and conflict over and over again. It's called cliche. You can guess what's gonna happen next and who the hero/heroine ends up with. Yet, people still take interest in them.
Why?
I have an idea of why that happens but...I'm not sure. But I wanna get it out of my mind, so here goes.
Maybe people enjoy cliche because they know what's gonna happen. You see, people naturally have this fear of the unknown. So that's when the cliche thingy, attracts them most. But I know not everyone is like that.
Because some people prefer the suspense. The kind of people who like suspense though, are quite few compared to the ones who don't.
Like me. I hate cliches! I'm so tired of them! But whenever I login to AFF, I see them everywhere~ it hurts my head sometimes. @,@
And, this is just my opinion, but doesn't that count as plagiarism as well? I mean, the plots are roughly the same. For instance, the ones I see the most are; playboys/girls turned good, kingkasqueenkas turned humble, poor girl falls in love with rich snobby guy, etc.
BAWRING!!! I mean seriously, where's the originality? Creativity? Induviduality?
I guess it's hard to break out of the clicheness of things. haha
But I'm doing it right now. My story will not be cliche. I'm gonna get rid of that cliche spell because I am my own person! I have originality and creativity! I will help show that to AFF and hope that everyone else would do the same. Hopefully^^
My fanfic is entitled 'This Story Doesn't Even Make Sense!' And I sure hope it wouldn't~
