Where to start with this wonderful girl?
I've seen three main groupings in the fandom regarding Tiffany: those who don't know much about her, those who adore her for who she is and those who dislike her for who she is. Well when I first got into SNSD and the world around it, I didn't exactly notice her. Why? First, Yoona took all my attention. And Tiffany just doesn't get credit for what she does. She is more of a behind-the-scene girl. She wasn't really an attention seeker. Especially on Hello Baby. She was more overshadowed by the other members. However, I started researching. I watched, I listened, I read, I emphasised, I regretted: all those times I'd misjudged this amazing, sensitive, sweet girl, purely because of my own stupidity.
Which is why I'd like to think this post will do three things:
for all you people who know nothing about her, I hope this helps you realise what a great girl Tiffany is.
for all you people who love her already, I hope this post reminds you of the reasons why your heart belongs to this adorable mushroom.
and most importantly, for all you people who dislike her and never gave her a chance, I sincerely hope I've done something to change your mindset: be it something small, like disliking her a little less, or something big, like changing your whole entire opinion on this sweetheart, I hope I've been able to help open your eyes a little and shown you the side of Tiffany that can only be described as admirable, heart-warming, tear-jerking and loveable.
so, why do we love Fany Fany Tiffany, you say?
9) Her eye-smiles can make anyone's day
Any Sones will automatically think of "Tiffany" whenever they hear the phrase "eye smiles", and there's no doubting why. It's pretty cute how she smiles so much that you can't even see her eyes♥
8) She's a dork
This is true for basically all of the members of SNSD, so Tiffany's no different from the other 8.
7) Only she makes mistakes on stage look so cute
6) She's always the one being bullied/teased
I'd like to think she puts up with it because she's too nice to say anything about it or she just doesn't know how to insult them that well in Korean yet, aww.
5) Her hard work is so admirable
Tiffany's motto is apparently "Just work hard (practice makes perfect)" and I wouldn't be surprised if it was, because from what l've seen, she is a mighty hard worker, this one.
The first time I really noticed it was in Hello Baby.
Tiffany turns up, having bought a load of those "make your own toy" and "make your own pillow" set. Although she was often shown rejection by Kyungsan, I was amazed at her dedication and how much effort she put into making the little vest for Kyungsan. It just touched me so much how while all the other girls were talking and messing around like the girls they are, Tiffany bowed her head and started working hard straight away and at the end, when she showed off her garment, I just felt so proud of her, and that, right there is why Tiffany is such an admirable woman.
Because, you can see JUST how much effort she puts into everything she does and when she's done it, you feel that sense of pride with her, because you've also been able to witness the effort she's put into this task, and that just touches you so much.
4) She thinks about everyone else over herself
when Tiffany injured her ankle falling down the stairs, and really, this just amazes me: how selfless she is, how much pain she must have been in: how determined she really is. She limped up all of those stairs for what? Just to present flowers to Yoona. She didn't care how much it hurt, she didn't care that it would make her sprain so much worse - she didn't care what it would do to her, because she was thinking about Yoona, not about herself.
I don't know how trust-worthy this story is, but I'd like to think it's true, because, this is the kind of thing Tiffany would do. Because she is just like that: she's someone who will help anybody regardless of how they treat her or have treated her beforehand.
3) She's not afraid to show her faith
I think there are very few people who are like Tiffany and are so proud of their faith. What's even more amazing is that she isn't just saying stuff like this to give herself more attention: she practices what she preaches and I think it just makes her shine a little bit more, to know that there are still celebrities that are this down to earth.
2) She has an amazing voice
Personally, I still really enjoy listening to her singing because she has such a unique huskiness and she has such a versatile voice.
She doesn't often get to sing by herself - most of the time she does duets with Jessica or in small groups when they perform on the radio, but sometimes we get lucky and get to witness her solo potential.The thing I most like though, is seeing how much she's improved since those videos - although she was good back then, I personally think that she's come so far in her voice development.
