If I Die Young
Yup. I decided to blog my poems before I post it on Seuta Cafe so I don't spam the cafe.
Inspired by The Band Perry's If I Die Young. The parts in grey were not sung but I hope you can follow through :P
Okay! Clickies to hear our Chinese-American Sam Tsui's beautiful voice! :D
If I Die Young
If I die young,
Give away my toys
Dress them all up in
Dainty frocks
Give a ribbon to dear
Snowdrop
Please keep them together no matter what
…
Oh oh, oh oh
...
I've still got my dreams
Hidden in that bottle
The one that's buried in that cherry blossom yonder
And those
Precious seedlings of aspiration and my lovely
Sunflowers of fulfilled ambitions
Care for which what used to be mine
So when
You leave
You’ll leave nothing behind
If I die young,
Take care of my flowers
Turn their heads towards
The sunset
Unearth my dreams and
Scatter
Them into the wind so they'll flutter round the whole world
Share that which I leave behind
So they'll
Be there for me to find
As for my photos
Curl them up into a bottle
And drop them in the sea where you'll never find them again oh
Save a few like the one when I was five
Give one to my father and one to my Mom
Tell them
That whatever I said
I love them forever
Oh if only they'll return me the favour by
Remembering their child's laughter
And
Never regret her
If I die young
Don't tell my parents
Wait and see if they’ll
Feel my absence
Explain that I had
Wandered
But next time I'll return as an even better daughter
So don't cry no more and I'll breathe before I
Run out of the seconds slipping through my fingers
And maybe then you'll hear
The sound of them trickling
Perhaps only then do we appreciate things...
...
If I die young
Write me a tribute
Tell the world I was here and of what I contributed
Please shed a tear for a life
Once lived
For a girl who dreamed all her way into a deep sleep
…
Oh oh
…
For that girl inside my heart
…
Don't turn back, don't forget
Gather up your skirts
Run towards the light
Like you did when you first entered this beautiful earth
Care for which what was mine…
