personality : As they say, looks can be deceiving. In Tian Xing's case, it can be so deceiving that it will cause painful death. She has so much pride in her district that she will do anything to increase its reputation. Coming from the district in charge of making weapons, Tian Xing has got the names and functions of almost all weapons memorized. She is always looking forward to volunteering at the reapings to show off her exceptional skills in throwing knifes, chucking spears, shooting poisonous darts, and launch an arrow. Tian Xing was trained to enter the games ever since she was a child, like most district telekinesis kids. Always strong willed and eager to learn new things, Tian Xing was one of the top three in her school. But beware, she can be so stubborn that she won't listen a word anyone says. 

Tian Xing's personality and character can be described in just three words. Sly, sneaky, and secretive. No one can ever trust her words and believe what she says. Yes, she can have a lot of friends, but when the time comes, she will backstab and betray them without hesitating. Tian Xing's attitude is worse than her personality. She laughs when someone messes up, smirks at people's mistakes, and rolls her eyes when a person accidentally trips or falls. You can her her sadist and crazy all you want, but she doesn't care Although she is not exactly an ice princess, she can be mean and cruel like one.

People would always say that if a girl is cold and mean on the outside, she then is fragile and kind on the inside, right? Scratch that. Tian Xing is stubborn and sly on the outside, and on the inside. She only has one weakness in the world, though. If someone threatens to take away the most precious thing from her (in her case, it's her best friend), she will do anything to save him, even if it means giving up her life.

how did he get chosen for the mortal games? :  Just like any other person in telekinesis, the people are willing to volunteer freely. This was the case for Kris. 

background : Kris was living in a wealthy middle class family. His dad is a master blacksmith that can fix almost any weapon you give him, and his mom is the head principal for the school the children goes to school in. Kris always got what he wanted, and just like tianxing, he is more than willing to give up his life for the pride of the district.
