Let's be honest, from the very first breath he took, Leeteuk's life was literally a mess. Jung Leeteuk was born along with his older twin brother Heeteuk to a single 18 year old mother in Seattle, USA, six weeks before they were meant to be born. As a result of that, both twins have suffered heterochromia (lack of pigments in their genes) since an early age as well as the lask of immunity which caused them to get sick easily. Their mother sadly passed away while giving birth and since she got disowned by her parents who didn't approve of her pregnancy and she never told the father of her children about it, the twins were taken to orphanage and raisde there since they had no one to go to.
Life amongst other orphans wasn't easy for the two brothers since orphanage was the place where kids could be rather harsh on each other, often picking on eash other's flaws. Leeteuk's twin brother was a common target for those kids since Heeteuk was mute and both twins had a rather weird appearance because of their heterochromia. From an early age, Leeteuk learned how cruel the world is and that only the curel ones can survive. Leeteuk hated to see his brother being hurt and teased so he always protected him, often getting into fights. Many kids assumed that Leeteuk and his brother are 'more than brothers' and often teased them about it as well as their heritage and appearance. A lot of kids in the orphanage ended up with broken body parts, some even with lost memories and other traumas and it didn't take long for Leeteuk to be the most feared kid in the orphanage. No one ever showed interest in adopting Leeteuk or his brother since it was clear that Leeteuk wouldn't let his brother leave him nor would Heeteuk leave the orphanage without Leetuek.
The twins spend their whole childhood in the Seattle orphanage, never knowing who their parents really were. They only heard stories about them from one of their caretakers, Kathy Jung, who was actually a friend of their mother and she knew about the twins' father. She told the twins the truth about their parents when they turned 14 and after that the twins seemed rather determined to find their father once they're out of the orphanage.

When the twins started high school and found themselves in a new place, they were again picked on and Leeteuk started to be violent again, very soon getting a status of a trouble maker in the school. It wasn't entirely his fault cause he just wouldn't tolerate anyone hurting his brother, the only person he loved and had in his life. Heeteuk, who was an easy target for all bullies always hated violence and would always try to stop his brothe rfrom hurting anybody. Most of the time, Leeteuk would listen to his brother, Heeteuk was the only one who could calm his twin down when he was angry, but sometimes Leeteuk would just snap and find a way to get back at the bullies. He was never kicked out of the school because of his talent for sports and surprisingly good grades as well as his brother, since Leeteuk was the only person who could communicate with his mute brother.
However, one day, when Leeteuk was suspended from the school because of yet another fight, some bullies took an opportunity to pick on his twin brother. Heeteuk, who was practically helpless without his brother around, got and beaten up very badly. That day, Leeteuk got a call from his best friend Kara that Heeteuk died of his injuries becuase his weak body couldn't put up with all the damage.Furious and heartbroken, Leeteuk took his revenge on the guys who took away his brother from him. He knew he would be facing the charges because the guys who killed his brother were rather wealthy and comparing to Leeteuk who was an orphan, he had no chance in winning against those guys. So Leeteuk escpaed the orphanage and lived on the streets of Seattle, where he grew even more violent each day by trying to fight for food and shelter. This was the time when he found his passion for dancing and rapping by participating in underground dance and rap battles where the most offered prize was money.
Leeteuk was only 16 at the time. Besides getting more violent, Leeteuk was faced with deep depression. He would seek comfort in cutting himself, smoking, even drinking, basically punishing himself for leaving his brother when he needed him the most. Back then, the will to find his father who lived all the way in Korea was awaken again and he has sworn to his deceased brother and mother that no matter what he will let his father know of their exsistance. He lived like this for 3 months until he found a way of leaving USA by auditioning for SM entertainment, completely relying on his raw talent in dancing and rapping. The SM representatives were very amazed at the talents someone like Leeteuk could have and before he knew it, he got invited to trian under SM wihout any further auditioning. Leeteuk moved to Seoul with his friend Kara who was also auditioning SM and they moved in with Leeteuk's good friend Yunho, who was a son of his caretaker Kathy. Leeteuk took over his mother's last name Jung and since he found himself in Korea, he didn't hesitate on looking for his father since his father was the only relative he knows of who is still alive.

personality: 
Leeteuk is a very mysterious and quiet guy. First thing you'd say when looking at him is that he's a deliquent and a rebel as well, maybe even trouble maker. Honestly, he does appear to be quite self-centered and arrogant since he's not really a person to make a move when meeting someone. He rarely shows any affection towards people and when someone new approaches him, Leeteuk is usually rahter cold and acts disinterested. If he doesn't like someone for a certain reason, he will show it. However, if he likes someone, or his attention has been drawn to them, he';; make sure that they know it. He has a rather charismatic vibe to his hard-to-get attitude and that's what usually draws girls to him. He can be quite dirty-minded at times and immature. You could call him a trouble maker, but truth be told, he isn't. He ;s not particularly straght-forward and never provokes people and avoids starting a fight but, yes, he gets violent when he's pissed off.
Leeteuk likes to be careful of who he makes friends with or gets attached to. He doesn't mind being alone, in fact, he would prefer being alone rather than being surrounded by people becuase being surrounded to him means having a bigger chance of getting into a fight. Leeteuk has a very short-temper and barely any patience at all. When pissed off, he uses violence, wanting to prove that the other person was wrong. It may not seem like it, but Leeteuk is actually a very gentle and sensitive soul. He's rather awkward but a real gentleman. There aren't many people who witnessed this soft side of him.
Leeteuk easily misunderstands someone's words and often takes everything pepople say to his heart. Becuase he was often put down and people would always brag about Leeteuk and his life, him being an orphan, his looks, his brother's death, Leeteuk feels like there's no one would like him for who he is. Being a hot-headed and stubborn guy, he always feels preassured and always wants to prove people that he isn't a low-life everyone thinks he is. He's rather insecure in his heart and he always goes hard on himself, beliving that he can do better than he's already doing.
Leeteuk likes to observe people, taking in their actions and behaviour, just to know how to act towards them. He finds it really hard to trust others and taks his time opening to someone. He is barely ever seen smiling, not even with his friends. If he every has some sort of a smile on his face, it is usually a smirk or a grin, but he rarely ever smiles sincerely. Don't get me wrong, he doesn't frown all the time. He just hasthis cool and straight face on most of the time. Just like trust, smiles have a great meaning for Leeteuk. If he is seen smiling to someone, it means that he trusts that person or he really enjoys that person's company and they make him feel comfortable and secure in himself. Just as he rarely as he is seen smiling, Leeteuk is also rarely seen crying. He has a great pride and would never ever cry in front of someone. He prefers keeping his problems to himself, hates depending on someone and never takes anything for granted. 
He's reliable and trustworthy friend but not the best person to seek an advice from. He's not particularly good with words, and when someone in trouble needs comforting, he will get dumbfounded and wouldn't know how to help, unless it involves violence, sadly. Actually, he can barely help himself when angry or sad, and he usually expresses his emotions through violence. Becasue of his violent nature and not so wonderful past, Leeteuk is often underestimated. He's a very smart guy despite his poor background and rash actions. He may appear cold and agressive but he actually cares about those who are important to him and it always surprises people how protective he can be over someone.

An Seungho [Tony An] || 39 || Alive || Father || Singer/Producer || Though he was raised in USA himself, he's very old-fashioned, polite and awkward at first. He can be rather funny and is protective and caring towards his loved ones. He always had (and still has) feelings for Leeteuk's mother and was really hurt when she left him but he doesn't know anything of Leeteuk (and his twin brother) being his sons or of their mother's death. He curently resides in Seoul along with his girlfriend.
Jung Hyeol Na || 38 || Deceased [age of 18 - while giving birth || Mother || Was a rather kind and gentle woman who just never had any luck in her life. She was very submissive to people around her and was easy to manipulate but was very reliable and easy to talk to. Not many people know of her death, only her best friend Kathy and her two sons.
Jung Heeteuk || 21 || Deceased [age of 16] || Older twin brother || He was a kind and a gentle boy, who could win over anyone's heart with his kind actions. He was a very sensitive boy, didn't like fights and could get hurt easily. He was mute but nevertheless, he was very friendly and liked to show affection to his brother Leeteuk and was one of the few people who were always there for him to calm him down (even though he usually did it unintentionally).

His mother was a caretaker at Seattle orphanage, where Leetuek grew up, and Yunho would often visit there. People often mistake him and Leetuek for brothers becuase of their same last names.
Park Kara [OC] || 21 || Alive || Trainee at SM || A very rebelious and out-going tomboy, Kara is a school friend of Leeteuk and Heeteuk. Kara can be very arrogant and open-minded, always speaks her mind and doesn't care what other people think of her and can be rather protective and clingy on the people close to her (especially Leeteuk). She comes from a rather rich family but because of her dream to become a singer, she was disowned by her parents, left school and moved to Seoul with Leeteuk.

Kim Jong In [Kai] || 19 || Alive || Idol [EXO-K] || A very laid-back and careless guy, he doesn't really care about other people's opinions or if any of his actions affect people around him in a good or bad way. Him and Leeteuk got into countless fight when they were trainees, as well as after the debut of EXO. They were always rivals, especially since Kai was chosen to be a member of EXO over Leeteuk, who was primarly meant to be a EXO's dancer. Kai loves to point this out whenever Leeteuk is around and never hesitates in provoking Leeteuk or getting him into trouble.

Jung SooJung [Krystal] || 19 || Idol [f(x)] || Open-minded, easy-going and funny, Krystal is someone anyone would love to have as a friend. She may appear childish but has a real heart of a leader, is very thoughtful and reliable. She gets flattered easily, despite her girlish nature and looks, however when agered, she can be quite mean and doesn't like it when people play with her trust.

Why are you so angry deep down inside? Would you ever hurt your fellow members?:
Sadly, agression is a way Leeteuk deals with his depression, loss and insecurity in himself. Violence is the only way he knows of in order to solve his problem, since he was raised in a rather cruel and violent surroundings. Growing up in an orphanage amongsr merciless children of different heritages, never knowing who his parents really are, being constantly picked on as a kid and then losing his brother to the bullies, Leeteuk feels as if he doesn't belong in this world. He often musinderstands what other people say and he feels like he has to prove himself of being stronger than what he looks like. He also blames himself for his brother's death as well as his mother's.
Leeteuk wouldn't go as far as hurting anyone on purpose but when he misunderstands what other person wanted to say, he can snap pretty badly and wouldn't be able to hold back from ohysically hurting someone.

What can help you control your problem?:
Basically, affection. Anyone's affection can help him to think before he acts but only certain someone's affection can help him control himself. A kiss on his cheek, hug, a strong hold on his shoulder or hand or even just a simple talk with the person he favours can calm him down. Leeteuk just needs someone to comfort him when he really needs it and to prove it to him that he's perfect just the way he is. Leeteuk personally believes that if he finds his father, he would be able to move on and leave his past behind him, since that was what he promised to himself and his deceased mother and brother.

training background: 
Leeteuk always enjoyed dancing. Ever since he was a kid, him and his brother would dance to the point they couldn't feel their legs. When Leeteuk was 12, his brother discovered rap music and taught his twin about it. Leeteuk, who actually had quite a talent in  rapping, found himself rather enjoying it and soon him and his brother Heeteuk, who was more talented in playing instruments, made a duo singer. Even after his brother's death, Leeteuk continued working on his talents, despite the emptiness he felt without his twin.
During the time he lived on the streets of Seattle, he discovered breakdance and b-boying and started participating in underground music and dance battles. During this time, he discovered his talent for writing lyrics and raps by writing his thoughts down and later using them as lyrics for songs.
Leeteuk first auditioned for SM Entertainment during their international auditions, seeing it as an opportunity to move to Seoul for small money. Leeteuk knew he has a talent but never expected for his plan to actually work or to actually like training under SM. His primary mission was to get out of USA and get to Seoul to try and find his father's whereabouts. However, he figured that if he became an idol, he could attract attention to himself and find the easier way to get in contact with his father. He did commence himself to hard work, gladly taking in all the advices some of his trainers and sunbaes were giving him but most of the trainers and trainees in SM weren't as friendly and thoughtful and he thought. Leeteuk would occasionally get into fights with either trainees or trainers, sometimes even idols from SM, usually because they would pick on him for his accent, looks, background and past. Even though he had the support of his friend Yunho who was an idol under SM and his friend Kara who was also a trainee there, his training years were the hardest years in his life, even harder than when his brother died and he had to live on the streets.
In 2011, SM was planning on debuting a new group called EXO and they were battling over chosing Leeteuk or his fellow co-trainee Kai to be a Main Dancer and the Rapper of the group. Leeteuk had the talent but he was very violent and SM didn't want any scandlas if Leeteuk wouldn't be able to control himself when he was an idol. So SM then chose Kai over Leeteuk because of his young looks and his calm nature. Another hardship, Leeteuk had to face and it really wasn't easy for him after EXO debuted and Kai started rubbing that fact into his face. When he saw that he was getting nowhere in the progress of becoming an idol, or even meeting his father, Leeteuk dropped out of training and took a year long break. SM headquarters didn't really seem to care as they didn't hink they really needed a trouble maker like Leeteuk.
However, during the past year, Leeteuk managed to calm his aggression and depression down a bit. Meanwhile SM was working on a new project and they needed a talented dancer and rapper for it but not many of their remaining trainees showed any progress. So they sent a representative to Leeteuk to ask if he would like to join SM as a trainee again. With Yunho's help and support of Kara, Leeteuk gave it another shot and started training under SM again.

During his trainee days, Leeteuk worked a lot with TVXQ and SHINee so he had few pre-debut experiences:
