The worst thing that happend to her surely is the tragedy that her parents died infront of her eyes they where murdered infront of 7 years old Xia back then. The killer was caught, the killer had no reason he just randomly attack anyone because his high on coccaine and beer. And the sad part of it her parents died before her 8th birthday. When her parents died police officers bring her to a Orphanage in China and after 2 years she was Adopted by an American Couple who lived in China they stay there for a year then they brought Xia to California and after 3 years of staying in California they decided to live in Korea for good.
