Every minute's like the last so;

personality: Hyunki has a cold-city boy look, however, he is actually warm hearted. He is very humble though he rose to fame rather quickly. He is a perfectionist and sets high standards for himself - he always strive to be the best that he could ever be. He has a "stick to it" attitude and is not afraid of hard work. He is the type of person who puts his all into a project; his persistence is what often makes him a better actor and is the trait he is most recognized for as a rookie actor. Hyunki is very intelligent and is easily able to concentrate and focus, allowing him grasp difficult ideas and concepts that help him improve his acting skills. Like his sister, he is very insightful and observent, often seeing things that are not obvious to others. Hyunki usually understands how others are feeling and is genuinely concerned with the others around him. He naturally emphasizes with those around him and his caring personality often helps others solve their problems, as he is able to see problems from different angles and come up with different possibilties when troubles come his way. He is recognized for his level of understanding that makes him appear wise, allowing him to live up to the meaning of his name. 

               At times, he is very judgemental and sometimes comes off as rude when voicing his opinion - he sometimes isn't aware how he comes across to others. Because he is a perfectionist, he pushes himself too hard, maybe to exhaustion, and will not want to give up until he does it right. Because of this trait, he may have unrealistic and unreasonable expectations of others. Though he is kind, he does have a sarcastic side. He may act rude but just know he doesn't mean it. He has a huge heart but sometimes his high blood pressure acts up, causing him to tense up and snap.

               Similar to his twin sister, he tends to tense up when under a great deal of stress. When stressed, Hyunki has an intense and quick temper. He often holds grudges and has difficulty forgiving people, especially when that person has hurt someone really close to him. During situations like that, Hyunki often gives that certain the cold shoulder and won't want to listen to what that person has to say. Though he is very understanding and loves to help people go through their hard times, he finds it difficult to express his own feelings to others. His family and close friends usually have to bug him until he spits it out. He may sound very serious but Hyunki has a playful side as well. He tends to fool around and play pranks on those that are close to him. Whenever his group of friends get in trouble, he always takes the blame. If he was in an idol group, he definitely has the traits to be a leader.

Don't over think just let it go;

background: Most of his life, he has lived in the suburbs of Anaheim with his family of four – her mother, father, younger sister and himself. During the summers, his family often visited Korea, where they stayed with his father’s side of the family. While growing up, Hyunki would always put on plays based on the books he read with his sister as his co-star. Noticing his love for acting and his sister's love for dancing, his parents enrolled their kids in Anaheim School of the Arts (fictional school), a school ranging from grade school up to high school. While attending this school, Hyunki always took drama classes, which he enjoyed very much. He auditioned for his school plays and musicals, and almost always got a huge role. He was also took part in their school's Improv Olympics each year, which was much like the American show "Who's Line is it Anyways?"

Due to his love for the performing arts and Disney, he auditioned to play a character  at the Disneyland Resort Parks as a part-time job. At the auditions, she wowed the judges with his acting ability and casted to be one of the resort's "Peter Pan"  right on the spot. He loved playing around with the kids in the park, signing autographs as the famous lost boy, and never wanted to grow up. Through this acting experience, he found that he loved the attention and that is when he knew he wanted to become an actor.

mother: Sarah Latore | 48 | Registered Nurse | Alive |  Sarah is a caring mother who always checks on her kids, and often nags her husband on being too hard on her babies. She always encourages her kids to follow their dreams, and always watches over them. Her husband gave her the nickname "Guardian Angel" because she always keeps a close eye on her children. She's a proud mother, often wearing a smile every time she sees her kids on TV. She hardly ever gets mad at others because she tends to keep her feelings in rather than letting them out.  However, once you push her to the edge, there is no stopping her rage.| She still sees Hyunki (and his sister Eunae) as her babies and tends to sob every time they come home - talking about how she's watched them grown up and now they're putting themselves out into the world. At times, she doesn't want to let them go but she does anyway because her kids are living their dreams. Though he doesn't show it, Hyunki hates upsetting his mother because he knows she takes it to heart even though she doesn't show it. He always calls to check in with her and tell her how he's doing. 

father: Shim Daejung || 50 || Alive || Military officer || Daejung is a strict man when it comes to his children's education and sometimes he takes it too far. Because of being in the military for too long, he often forgets to let loose. He often lectures his kids on the same things over and over again. However when he does let loose, he is just like a little kid. When he loses his temper, he doesn't really know how to apologize so he tries to make it up to his kids or wife by spoiling them. He hates seeing his kids cry. || Daejung always pushes Hyunki to do his best, and sometimes he goes too far. However, he does this because Daejung knows that one day, Hyunki will be starting a family of his own and he wants his son to be the best husband and father a man could ever be. There are times when Daejung and Hyunki get into fights however, they are quickly resolved - The two males of the family are too stubborn to apologize and do their best to make it up through actions. Hyunki looks up to his father because he sees Daejung as a strong man who has the ability to support his family. Hyunki hopes to become like him and strives to do so by doing his best with his acting career - he hopes to be a breadwinner like his father one day. When the two males of the Shim family let loose, there's no stopping to their silliness. They like to crack jokes (which aren't all that funny) and build Gundams in their spare time. 
sibling(s): Shim Eunae {stage name: Anna} || Twin Sister || 18 || Alive || Member of girl group Destiny || A “go with the flow’ kind-of girl, Eunae is one who lives for the moment. She is enthusiastic and fun-loving. She enjoys entertaining people, which is why she loves to dance. She is an artsy person, who loves to do anything that sparks her creative mind. Generous and warm-hearted, she generally accepts anyone who is willing to be her friend. But if you cross paths with her by getting on her bad side in some way, watch out! She will make a strong and stubborn judgement on the person who has crossed her, which often results to her holding grudges. Eunae is very observant about her surrounding area, including the people around her. She can sense when something is wrong with a friend of hers. Though she is not the best at giving advice, she will often do whatever it takes to cheer that friend up.   Eunae often loses her cool when under a great deal of stress. When something goes wrong, only the negative possibilities float through her head. She also cannot take criticism well as Eunae is very sensitive. ||  Eunae appreciates that her brother is protective of her, but at times, she gets annoyed. She nags him, always mentioning how no male idols approach her becauase they feel threatened by him (to which he always replies "Good, they should be," and ruffles her hair.) Hyunki and Eunae play a lot of pranks on each other whenever they can - it's quite hilarious to the staff at CJeS headquarters, due to the fact that most of the pranks take place at the main office. She tries to use aegyo on him and it always works, no matter how hard he tries to resist it. 

friends: Krystal Jung || 18 || Member of f(x)|| They met during the first read-through of their sitcom at the MBC building. The PD forced them to have lunch so they could develop that 'best friend' bond their characters are supposed to have. || Krystal may appear cold at first, but she is actually a crazy 4-D girl who loves to have fun.  Krystal is quite the prankster, epecially when it comes to tricking Hyunki. Because they became close, she calls him by his Korean name instead of his stage name. The one flaw about Krystal is her hot temper - get her mad and you won't live to see the sun rise! She tries to hide it on shows, which is why she is known for her icy appearance. If you see Krystal show her cold stare on national TV, it means two things - she is either spacing out (she's kind of an airhead at times) or she's attempting to control her temper. || Hyunki sees Krystal as his younger sister and treats her like one, which Jessica really appreciates. Like blood siblings, they tease each other like crazy and whenever they were on shows together to promote their sitcom, they had no problem displaying their playful friendship. However, at times, he regrets introducing Krystal to his sister because now those two are attached by the hip and cannot be seperated. To him, it's like dealing with two troublemakers. They converse in English whenever they can. 

Lizzy || 20 || Member of After School || Lizzy, who was already friends with Hyunki's sister, met him during their the read-through of their drama. She was shooting him suspicious looks throughout the whole meeting while going through the script. During the break, she approached him and the first thing she said to him was "Are you really dating Anna (Eunae)?!" He laughed it off, replying "Anna's my twin," leaving the girl shocked before he walked through the doors. || Lizzy has a very bright personality and can easily cheer anyone up with her beautiful smile. She is the mood maker and hardly anyone can hate her. She is the type to brush negative comments off easily; hardly anyone can break her. Lizzy is also known for loving celebrity gossip. || Of course the two get along well, who wouldn't get along with Lizzy? Hyunki calls her "noona" but she hates it because it makes her feel old. She always tries to pry into Hyunki's love life but he always ignores her questions. To get her way, she always threatens him by saying she would tell Eunae that he's not treating her right, knowing that at times, he's scared of his twin.

best friend: Lee Jungshin || 21 || Member of CNBLUE || Hyunki starred in CNBlue's lastest music video. || Jungshin is known as a person who lives in his own little world. But somehow, his weird antics is what attracts his friends to him. He is very witty and knows how to fool around. He's serious when it comes to performances but other than that, he is one of the funniest idols you will ever meet. He knows when to stop fooling around and can tell when something's wrong. At times like those, he will always lend a shoulder to lean on. || Jungshin and Hyunki are always seen fooling around, except when it's time to work. These two are unstoppable with their brains and their wit. They're usually spotted playing video games, munching on whatever food they can find and reading comic books with Minhyuk. 

Kang Minhyuk || 21 || Member of CNBLUE || Hyunki starred in CNBlue's lastest music video. || Minhyuk, like Jungshin, can differenciate when it's time to play and when it's time to be serious. However, he is sometimes an airhead and never pick up on hints, much like his character in "Heartstrings." He is completely childlike, has a love for food and its completely naive. He may not give the best advice but he will do whatever he can to cheer a person up. || Hyunki often scholds his hyung because he's just too damn clueless at times. The three best friends are always playing video games, munching on snacks, and reading comic books. Minhyuk likes to tease his dongsaeng by saying he's gonna hit on Hyunki's sister...which results in someone getting their kicked.

love interest: Juniel | 19 | She's a sweet girl who has never dated in her life. She's completely clueless on how to act with boys that are not in her entertainment company. She is very caring towards others and is very innocent. She tries her best to befriend everyone but she sometimes comes off as awkward. She's naturally very cute and it's hard not to fall in love with her. She's very fragile - she easily gets hurt and once her tears flow she can't really stop them. CNBlue and FTIsland are very protectiver of her - she's their little angel. She is very child-like and loves going to fairs and theme parks - she loves the thrill the rides give her. | They meet at  Lotte World ; he is sent to find her near the merry-go-round. His first impression of her was that she looked like a pixie.| Hyunki's very protective of her. (basically same as above)  They meet at  Lotte World ; he is sent to find her near the merry-go-round. His first impression of her was that she looked like a pixie.| Hyunki's very protective of her.
