She feels that her mother has never paid enough attention to her because of her career, which is why Ji Na is often cold towards her. Her mother is considered one of the hottest and iest celebrities of the moment, making Ji Na have an inferiority complex even though she’s quite pretty herself… just not mature enough yet. There's nothing that bothers her more than being asked to get an autograph from her oh so perfect and famous mother so she tries to keep her identity secret when meeting people.

She’s always been a reckless trouble maker to get her mother’s attention, and she always does whatever she wants not caring about what others will think. As she would say, "if you don’t like it, it up". She’s impulsive and often acts before thinking, also causing her to get into a lot of trouble sometimes.

Since she’s straightforward, Ji Na always says things bluntly. She can be rude sometimes and night appear to be arrogant and rather cold when you first meet her. However, if you try to get to know her and she likes you, she’s a true friend who you can count on for anything. It will take time and patience to get to that point though. Behind that tough image, she’s actually a very caring girl who hates fake and spoiled people. Although she’s rich because of her mother, she doesn’t show it off. She can’t stand rich brats who are so full of themselves just because they have money or good looks.

Ji Na loves all kinds of sports and is very competitve. Back in Tokyo, she was her former school's swimming team captain. When Ji Na's mother was very young she moved to Japan to live her dream and become an internationally well-known actress, leaving all her friends and family behind. She's a hard worker and has put all her efforts into her acting carreer, which makes her feel kind of guilty for not giving enough attention to her daughter.

When her mother was younger she was quite playful and had lots of flings, one of them resulting into Ji Na being born. When she announced that she was pregnant it was a huge scandal because she never revealed who the father was and decided to be a single mother, racing her daughter all alone. That's why the girl has her mother's surname and still doesn't know who her father is.

Right now, her mother is a Korean actress who made it big in Japan which is the reason why they have their home in Tokyo, but they are constantly travelling back and forth between Korea and Japan because of her mother getting jobs at both countries. That’s why she’s fluent not only in Korean, but also Japanese. 

Since her mother was always busy with work, Jina tried to spend as much time as possible out of home. The big mansion they owned in Tokyo was probably everything anyone else would have wished for, but she felt lonely inbetween luxurious yet empty walls. Hence, she used to hang out with her friends, often getting in trouble as an unconscious way of getting her mother's attention which rarely worked. Since her mother felt guilty for not being there for Ji Na, she let her do almost everything she wanted and hardly ever scolded her until she got into an accident because of driving her motorcycle too fast. That was when her mother realized that she had put some limits and sent her daughter to live with her grandparents back in Korea. Therefore, she was enrolled as a transfer student at Kangnam Elites Academy.

She has never had a serious relationship before although she's had a fling with Lee Kikwang, a guy she met at a club. It was fun while it lasted, but as soon as she noticed that he wanted to take their relationship a step farther she broke it off. She's positive that her mother was played when she was young and that's how she became a single mother so she has trust issues when it comes to guys. is fun, but to her love is just painful, pointless and overrated. Actually she's just scared to be hurt, but she won't admit it even to herself.

Just suggesting, but at first maybe she could wrongly think that he's another annoying cocky kingka by how many girls surround him whenever she spots him. Hence, she would treat him coldly the first time they exchange a couple of words and he would take her for an arrogant whech is the impression many people have when they first meet her. Gradually though they start to get to know each other and change their minds.

- She could go to watch a basketball training since her two friends are in the team just after their first meeting which didn't end too well. Then, he could think that she's there to see him and about it saying that she's just like all the other girls after all. She would get angry at that and spit at him that she's nothing like those brainless girls, he's just a pretty face and in fact she doubts that he's that good; she could probably beat him at playing basketball if she wanted to so why would she bother to go see him? She's just there for her friends. He would be shocked by her attitude and would actually find her interesting yet he would obviously be angry at her calling him just a pretty face. Thus, he would challenge her to a one on one match and whoever loses has to do everything the other wants for a whole day. Being as competitive as she is, Ji Na would accept without doubting. Then she would see that he's actually good and for a moment she would forget about the challenge and just have fun playing. At the end, he would win by just one point which would frustrate her since she bloody hates losing. Since she would have to do everything he told her to, he would make her carry his bag and follow him around to do all kinds of things for him, purposely irritating her.
