I won't name names but someone on this site posted a story.  In the foreword, they said it wasn't their story and that they got from some site idr and I'm pretty sure they gave credit to the author.  I'll be honest, I was too lazy to look for the actual story and I figured, 'Oh well they got the original author's permission to put it on here so no harm no foul I can be lazy if I want.'

Wrong.

WRONG.

I get an alert about the story getting updated but when I click it, it said it got removed due to plagiarism which struck me as odd because again, they must have got permission to post it here because who really steals stories so boldy right?  So after a bit of internet sleuthing, it turns out the person didn't get the author's permission so their story got removed for plagiarism.  AS IT SHOULD HAVE.  Giving credit to the original author isn't the same as asking permission.  Now they're all bummed about it getting removed saying how hard they worked on it.

Hard?  You just copied and pasted!  You did nothing else!  That story was riddled with spelling errors and you couldn't even be bothered to edit it!  I don't understand why someone would take someone's story without asking and think that's ok.  I don't understand why they would be upset about getting caught and penalized for doing something they shouldn't have been doing in the first place.  I don't understand why they didn't just ask the author's permission then it might have been avoided.  I just don't understand.
