Why should he love me? (If he were to be my lover...)

I can’t really tell you why you should love me. After all, love’s not something you can reason with or predict or understand. It just happens if we’re lucky, whether it’s in an instant or over many years. If we’re even more blessed, it lasts even longer, but I can’t tell you that will happen to us either. The only thing I can tell you, is why I hope you’ll love me.

I hope you love me because I’m not perfect by any means, physically, emotionally, or mentally. I’m more than a little chubby than your average Korean girl, but I like my curves most of the time. I’ve got some insecurities like being shy and afraid of rejection, but I still try to smile and be adventurous sometimes. I’m pretty mature for my age I think, but heaven knows I still have a lot of growing up to do and I can be arrogant. Hopefully, with you by my side, we can help each other become better people.

I hope you love me because I’m a little strange, but in a good way. I’m quiet most of the time because I don’t like to waste words, but sometimes I stumble over my words because my brain’s thinking too fast. I tend to nerd out about things I like, especially books. I prefer staying in and having a movie marathon to going out to the club. I’ll stop in the middle of the sidewalk to look at the way vines curve around an ironwork fence or watch a cloud cross the sky.

I hope you love me because I’m genuine and grounded. I don’t wear make-up or wear trendy clothes because I want people to like me for who I am, not what I look like. I know I’m not y, so I embrace being cute. I’m nice, but I won’t pretend to agree with what you say if I feel differently. You won’t have to worry about drama or useless fights with me because I don’t see the point of it all when we can just talk and avoid the stress and pain. I promise we’ll talk things through and I’ll be your rock and your calm when the world seems to go insane.

I hope you love me because I’ll stand by you and be your support through it all. When I love, as a friend and a lover, I’ll put you before myself. I’ll listen to your worries, your complaints, for as long as you need and offer comfort and the best advice I can. I'll listen to your hopes and your stories, laughing along with you. I’ll be your number one fan, no matter if you win or not. If you have your burdens, let me share them with you. If your tired, let me hold you in my arms and your hair until you fall asleep. If you’re sick or hungry or sad, let me fuss over you until you feel better.  Let me make you laugh, smile, and cry from laughter and happiness.

I hope you’ll love me because I think you’re beautiful. I know you don’t think you are and it honestly hurts me to hear you say that. It’s cliche, but true; everyone has something beautiful about them whether we can see it or not. You’re one of those people lucky enough to be blessed in both ways. I love your lips, your bright smile, and the way your emotions come right through your eyes. I love the way you take care of the other members, the way you love your family, the way you never stopped fighting for your dream, your incredibly gorgeous, emotional voice. Given the chance, I’d tell you just how beautiful you are every day.

I hope you’ll love me because of the little things we’ll do. We’ll have couple everything and be incredibly cheesy together. We’ll go get coffee in our couple hoodies and walk around with hands intertwined.We’ll cuddle and giggle and laugh together as much as possible. I’ll help you with English so you can sound just like Ne-Yo when you sing his songs but even better. You’ll steal tastes and kisses when I cook delicious things just for you. I’ll smile and gaze back at in admiration when you sing me the ballads you wrote for me and I won’t mind you teasing me at my own attempts to do the same for you. I’ll miss you when you’re gone, but I understand it’s your dream and your life, so I’ll support you. I’ll just shower you with love and hugs and kisses when you come back to my arms.

I hope you love me because there’s something different about me from anyone else you’ve ever met. You’re never really sure what that something is, if it’s the way I smile or the way I look when I’m just sitting reading a book or the way I think, but you’re willing to spend a lifetime with me trying to figure it out. And that whole time, I’ll be trying to discover the same thing about you. If it’s the way you laugh and spazz, the determined and passionate way you do everything, that mischievous look you get when you’re up to something, that sweet angel voice of yours. Whatever it is for either of us and whether or not we find it, let’s give each other countless happy memories to share and cherish.
