Worst and Best Kpop Band Names???

I was reading an acticle about the worst Kpop Band Names and it got me thinking a little. Every Kpopper knows that there are some KRAZY names in the Korean Pop Music industry such as

B.A.P

4minute

A Jax

HAM

100%

Teen Top

Nu'est

Crayon Pop

Dal Shabet

C-Clown

The list goes on and on and on...

They either have random English words thrown in to create some weird intials like BAP: Best, Absolute, Perfect...or call themselves 4minute when there's actually 5 members...or have the name Teen Top which only works if all the members are vampire's who stay 17  forever. Now I like some of these or at least heard of them. The only thing I don't care for is the name. I've sure there's way more than this I haven't mentioned.

 

So since we already know some Kpop name Failures, let's list some Kpop name that are an Epic success.

2ne1: when I first saw this name and tried to pronounce is I honestly thought (I bet you did too) that it was two, the letter N, the letter E ,one not 21. It's genius. No doubt about it. It's original and easy to remember and has no crazy random meaning behind it.

Girl's Generation: You can't deny that this name makes perfect sense. With a group that has 9 girls in it Girl's Generation fits extremely well.

Infinite: One word. No stupid meanings. No initials. Awesome Name!!

Big Bang: I love these guy (bias moment) and their name fits so well. Their Big (popular) everywhere and they make a bang where ever they go.

SISTAR: I acually love the name. I don't know if it stands for something or not and I don't want to find out either so I can ruin it for myself. Kudos to the genius who thought sister is too boring and sista doesn't quite fit but SISTAR is perfect.

***This is all biased info and it is based only on my oppinion one how I feel about Kpop band names. I did not say these bands were bad in anyway. Please don't criticize or leave mean comments***

I really feel the same way. It's kinda confusing when the meaning is just plain random and I really think they should make a name that is very memorable or very touching or something. I don't have my most favorite but there's something that I want to share: I don't like band names that makes or almost makes a statement that they are the best, they'll take over the world, or something. I'd rather have those names that signifies their members unite. Those names that signifies the members' names? I have no comment for that. Anyway, I was just searching for korean group names' meanings when I stumbled upon your blog post. I really agree with it ;3

I think that SHINee my favorite kpop band name (because well I'm biased lol :D) because its just brilliant and unique. It's a very creative way spell 'shiny' and very original. The meaning makes a lot sense too. They are called SHINee because they are five boys that shine off and on stage. I just feel that it was well thought out and not just some random name to be picked.

My least favorite kpop band name is quite cringe worthy. It's HAM which is supposed to be meant "Heart of A Mind" but be for for real what English speaker honestly thinks of that when they see or hear that name. My first thoughts are "you mean ham like the meat you put on a sandwich?" I would never guess that was the meaning. Honestly you should have just picked a better name and actually searched HAM because you will get a piece of meat not a Korean girl band.
