background: Evan and his family moved to Seoul the  day after his seventh birthday from New York City. His father had gotten hired by a major hospital in Seoul. Evan's parents place him and his brother into a regular Korean school. Due to being bi-racial, the twins were bullied by their classmates. Evan didn't take it well and so he fought back in order to protect himself & his twin. After getting a trouble a few times, he got left alone by his classmates while his twin Rene was the more social one. At the age of 14, Evan  got into a fight with his father after confessing to them that he was gay. His parents didn't take the news well and kicked him out. Rene went with him as he didn't want to be around parents that couldn't accept his brother. Evan and Rene lived on the streets for a few days until their friends allowed them to stay in their home.

〈 how did you find out? 〉 When Evan and Rene were about twelve or thirteen, they were looking through their parent's magazines while their parents had got out for the day. They looked around the house for their father's stash of dirty magazines which they found hidden under a fake  bottom in his desk.  Each twin to a magazine  from there and went to different areas of the house.Evan flipped through the pages to check it out and found that he didn't find any of the women attractive. He found it odd and went to talk to his brother. Rene had the opposite reaction.

The twins decided to try their mother's magazines. Rene looked for the pictures  and placed them in front of Evan. He  made him choose who did he prefer between the men and the women; the men won. Since they wanted to make sure , they decided to look it up more pictures on their computers. They even searched up men loving and Evan realized that he was gay. Evan told his brother and asked him if he would hate him or make fun of him like the characters show did to the gay character. Rene told him that he would stand by him no matter what;ual preference didn't matter to him. He just wanted his twin to be happy.
 

〈 how did your family react?  〉His parents didn't take it well especially after Evan ha d been caught with his now ex-boyfriend/rival Jaehyun.He got into a fist fight with his father which afterwards he was kicked out for. His twin Rene accepted him as he  found out when Evan had realized his ual prefence. Rene stated that he would support him no matter what.

background: Vanessa was raised by her Hispanic grandmother until she was about ten years old in New York City. Her grandmother died a few months after Vanessa's birthday due to heart failure.Since both her parents were never around for her, Vanessa moved to Seoul to live with her Korean grandmother. Her grandfather had died two years before Vanessa moved in.She were strict but her grandmother helped her get  better in school by tutoring her in reading and writing hangul.After auditioning for Teddy, her grandmother became ill and was sent to the hospital where she died in her sleep. After her grandmother death, Vanessa moved in with her close friends so she would be alone. Vanessa never knew her parents as they prefer to travel for their jobs than to raise her.
