`( Journalism keeps you planted in the earth ) Most people wish that Jaeryung came with a roll of tape – so that they could shut her up with it. It isn't easy dealing with Jaeryung if your feelings are hurt easily. She got into journalism with the intention of being honest even if it meant making a few enemies. Jaeryung isn't affected by anyone really, she only cares about her work and had wanted to become a journalist ever since she could first understand the weather lady. Honesty is policy, but it seems as if her honesty has made it so that no one likes her. Journalism is her passion, and there's never a time when Jaeryung isn't in reporter mode. When it comes to what she does, Jaeryung works herself to the bone. Those who seem like they take journalism lightly – doesn't matter if you're part of the journalism department or not, you don't mess with journalism or you're gonna take a hefty beating. She could write an article no problem, but when it comes to art and anything of the sort...she's got the skills of a new born out of the womb.
`( The truth? You can't handle the truth! ) Though Jaeryung has the looks, and the brains, and she's pretty well off in terms of money too, she's not very sociable. Not in a sense that she doesn't talk – it has already been said that she talks too much. Some people can't handle the truth, and Jaeryung really doesn't care. The problem with Jaeryung is that she doesn't care. She would have more friends if she gave the slightest about other people's feelings. It's not your typical 'What people think about me doesn't matter to me.' type of thing, it's that she doesn't care if she hurts people's feelings. She'll say what she says and it won't matter to her if it'll probably mentally scar someone for life. This is probably the worst aspect about Jaeryung.
`( Let's bump and grind, tonight we'll never end ) Every joke known to man has already been told by Ban Jaeryung. If you manage to not be offended by her bluntness, you might end up running away because of her ertedness. Jaeryung can make a dirty joke about everything and anything. You can't even eat a hot dog around her without having her giggle. Many say Jaeryung doesn't have a sense of humour since most people see her when she's working hard at her writing, but when you actually know her, she's actually quite funny...just in a really erse way. The issue here is that people often misinterpret her joking around with her friends as flirting since she only has three and a half friends, two and a half of which are male.
'( Hate you, I'm fine living without you ) Everyone annoys Jaeryung. She's a little too independent as some might say since she constantly pushes people away to do things on her own. She refuses to ask for help and believes that she can do anything if she puts her mind to it. She is stubborn beyond repair and way too hung on the idea that she can do anything and everything. Even when she's failing, she keeps trying which sometimes looks really pathetic – though really, it doesn't matter since her determination usually leads her to success with lots of injuries along the way. She does tend to get a little violent though when she gets annoyed so it's best to just stay away from her if she really doesn't like you.
'( Curiosity is lying in wait for every secret ) Being someone who wants to get into investigative journalism, it's without a doubt that Jaeryung is nosey. She knows everything about everyone. She's the go to girl if you want to know something about someone, but it comes with a price. She isn't usually one to gossip but she does like to talk about it with Kris every night. Knowing that she knows everything about everyone makes her feel like a legit reporter...just because she knows everything.
'( Be nice to nerds. Chances are you'll end up working for one ) On top of being smart, Jaeryung is a Star Wars junkie. When her eyes aren't glued to Kuma Kuma Turtles, her hands are glued to Star Wars collectibles. So I guess you can say she's a little nerdy. Poor girl is a nerd and an outcast, all she really needs now is to be bullied. But of course the reason she doesn't have friends is because no one wants to approach her. Jaeryung's prized possessions are her Star Wars collectibles. Her messenger bag, all of her t-shirts and hoodies, her god damn sneakers, and even her glasses are Star Wars. She's that girl who won't shut up if you even bring up the topic by accident. Yes. She is obsessed.

history:
Though she was born in sunny California, Jaeryung spent most of her life in busy Manhattan. Her time in LA was uneventful since she was only there until she was five. The only significant thing to say about her LA life was that the kids didn't like her because she was loud and "mean" – destroying self-esteems since '92. It was in Manhattan that she truly discovered herself. The enormous television screens, the constant news floating everywhere. So journalism has been her dream since she was six years old. Then in comes her brother getting into his Star Wars phase that same year. Jaeryung followed her brother everywhere. At the time, her brother didn't mind, the two were inseparable.
It was 2011 when Jaeryung got the news that her father was to transfer to Seoul, South Korea for business – being the only fluent Korean speaker in the company who was also fluent in English. She was eighteen, nineteen that year, but she didn't care much. She found everyone at her all girls school in Manhattan too stuck up, none of them were willing to befriend her either so really, it didn't matter to her that she would be leaving. Plus, she graduated already and it was time for a fresh start anyways. She'd transfer Universities, no big deal.
Her first day in Korea and she already made a new friend, Kris, who was from Canada. From then, life seemed pretty good for her. Korea didn't seem so bad after all. But it was around this time that she and her brother began to grow distant. Her brother was already eighteen and really, he just had his own life to live and clearly his little sister wasn't tagging along for the ride. They fought constantly after moving to Korea which was the unfortuante part, but that didn't matter because one day while she was visiting him at his apartment to bring him some stuff their mom was giving him, she met her other friend, Joon.
Jaeryung's life just got more exciting once she got to Korea, and though she only has three and a half friends, it doesn't matter to her because HATERS GON' HATE! Oh, right. Half? That "half" friend is a boy named Byun Baekhyun. Not a very smart boy for messing with Jaeryung all the time but she does give him credit for being able to withstand the abuse that comes with pissing her off.

Bongdal + Jaeryung ¦ Bongdal quite frankly is always too busy with work, so there really isn't much to say about this father daughter duo. However, at dinner time, they do joke around sometimes and Jaeryung's relationship with her father is a lot better than her relationship with her mother.
Goeun + Jaeryung ¦ Goeun seems to only care about her oldest child. And though she doesn't say it out loud, that is how she feels. Goeun constantly yells at Jaeryung and blames her for just about anything she can whether it's the credit card bill or a broken cup. Jaeryung in turn ignores her mother as much as possible. Shinhyung + Jaeryung ¦ Though they were close, once they stepped foot in Korea, it's as if Shinhyung decided it was time for him to live a new life. Though he doesn't show it, Shinhyung is overprotective of his sister and thinks she doesn't know it but she does which is why she still jumps on him and attacks him with affection despite the fact that he treats her coldly now.

✈ They met by chance. Both arrived in Korea on the same day, on the same flight. They actually sat next to each other but didn't interact during the long flight until she accidentally spilled her Ginger Ale on him. He wasn't innocent either, he accidentally took her luggage when they got off. And of course if it wasn't enough, they ended up as neighbors. Whenever she wants to runaway, it's just easier to go to Kris – kinda just climb over to his room since their room windows are next to each other and they have a wooden board they use to sneak into each other's homes. If she didn't think of him like a brother, she might have liked him.

✈ The awkward moment when you hit on your best friend's younger sister at the supermarket when you ran into their family there. That's Lee Joon for you, and that's how they became friends...because she thought he was cute and not creepy. Jaeryung treats Joon like a brother, and calls him Changsun over Joon.

how you met: The moment she even stepped foot into the university, she was knocked over by some moron. This moron who was clearly at fault had the audacity to say, "Watch where you're going, loser!" Jaeryung felt like she was in the middle of a cheesy teen movie. He just ran off like he had places to go. She ran after him and grabbed him by the back of his shirt causing him to tumble backwards.
"What's your problem?!" he exclaimed in anger.
"M-m-me?!" Jaeryung could barely believe this guy. "Listen shorty, I don't know who the hell you think you are, but I wasn't the one who ran into you, you ran into me. There's one thing down, and secondly, the only loser here is you, guyliner."
The boy seemed appalled by her statement. "Sh-sh-shorty? G-guyliner?!" he was still on the ground so he stood up, brushed himself off and glared at her. "I am not short, I'm just not a giant. There is nothing wrong with wearing eyeliner," some guy walked by who seemed to know the annoyance standing before her, "he's wearing it too. Look, nerd, I don't know who you are but I'm late, and I'm about to get my rear whooped real soon because you took up all my running time to knock me over and insult me."
Jaeryung's breathing became heavy as if she was trying to calm herself. "You think you're the only one who's late? I am too because you had the nerve to run me over with your fat and blame me for it. So excuse me Mr. Lady Fingers, I need to be on my way." Jaeryung left before he could say anything. He began to follow her. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE LATE FOR SOMETHING, LEAVE!"
"I'M GOING THE SAME DIRECTION!" he yelled.
The two walked to the office, but once one would surpass the other in distance, the latter would start walking faster until they were ahead...it turned out to be a race. Once the two got to the office, they were panting.
"Byun Baekhyun, you're late." the office lady said, "Ah, Ban Jaeryung, correct? You're late too." both of them sheepishly scratched the back of their heads. Upon realizing that they did the same thing, they immediately dropped their hands.
"Since both of you are in the same building for your classes, why don't you show Jaeryung around, Baekhyun?" unable to say no to the kind old woman, Baekhyun just grunted a yes and waited for his schedule.
"Thanks a bunch, Baekhyun." Jaeryung said sharply.
"No problem at all, Jaeryung." Baekhyun hissed.
"OH, YOU TWO LOOK SO NICE TOGETHER." The old woman said as she gave them their schedules. The two just ran off embarassed.
From then on, Jaeryung made sure to Baekhyun every time he got a girlfriend resulting in the girl always breaking up with him, and Baekhyun always blew Jaeryung's cover whenever she was off investigating things for her latest article. never a dull moment with those two.
relationship: Frenemy; rival
Their relationship is to say the least, violent, loud and spiteful – with a side of slight humour since both find it hilarious to insult the other. As if it wasn't annoying enough that the two went the same direction every morning and ran into each other every morning, both worked as part-time barsitas at the cafe near the school. There's never one day when Jaeryung isn't ruining Baehyun's chances at getting a girlfriend, or when Baekhyun's not ruining Jaeryung's chances at a good scoop. He tells her she needs to get a hobby other than collecting nerdy stuff and snooping around in none of her business, and she tells him he needs to grow or get shoe insoles. Though neither will admit it, they both enjoy the latter's company since school got a lot more exciting since the first day they met. But once Jaeryung got that new boy toy of hers, Baehyun realized it was time to step up his game and do a bit of stalking, Jaeryung style – i.e. in a really creepy way where you need to hide in bushes and stuff. So that he can coincidentally pop up out of nowhere and ruin their dates just when it's about to get good. Jaeryung tends to call Baekhyun some really weird names – all of which end with Bacon. While Baekhyun just calls her Nerd, Loser Skywalker, Douche Vader, Obi-Wan Kenosy, and similar clever things that more or less relate back to Star Wars, she calls him really childish things such as, Ankle biter funky face Bacon, Butter nugget wonton fish balls Bacon, er biscuit toe fungus Bacon, and other equally retarded things. They usually get extremely embarassed and flustered when people say they act like a married couple – violently wiping food off the other's face with a napkin, walking together, hitting each other to get the other's attention. Even though they seem like they can't stand each other, they're still together a lot of the time.
love interest two: Park Chanyeol
how you met: He wasn't someone who actually lived in France, he just happened to be on the same trip with a few of his friends. He was from a different school, so they were complete strangers. But then he overheard a lot of yelling in the airport while he was looking for his luggange. Something along the lines of, "THAT'S MY LUGGAGE, YOU BLOODY CAKE!" and "GET AWAY FROM MY LUGGAGE, LOSER SKYWALKER!" Being the curious fellow he is, he checked out the situation and found two people – one male, one female – going at a hardcore game of tug-o-war with a luggage.
"Excuse me, but may I suggest you two check the name tag on the thing?" Chanyeol stepped in.
The female seemed to be in awe by his tall stature and dashing looks. She let go of the luggage causing Baekhyun to stumble backwards. "B-bon-bonjourno." she said stupidly.
"You mean bonjour?" he laughed. Even his deep voice was mind numbing. "Je m'appelle Chanyeol. Un étudiant de Corée come vous. J'espère de te recontrer plus souvent, ma belle." and then he did the most unthinkable, well unthinkable to some stranger who just met him that day. He bent lower, picked up her hand and kissed it gently.
"Gracias?" she was sure that was Spanish but at that moment she didn't even care. "Farewell, oh handsome French speaking stranger!" she sighed in English.
"Let's exchange email addresses."he suggested switching back to Korean. "Maybe I can teach you some French." his smile was so radiant that it was blinding her.
'Dear lord, this guy belongs in a toothpaste commercial' she thought lamely. A cough broke her thoughts.
"Bacon, why are you still here?" she asked looking back at him. "Oh, are you staying to apologize about stealing my luggage?" For once, Baekhyun didn't say anything and just left.
"Your name is...?" Chanyeol asked.
"On! Jae Banryung, I mean Ban Ryungjae, NO I MEANT RYUNG JAEBAN." she took a few deep breaths, and clamly restarted. "My name is Ban Jaeryung."
There began a beautiful relationship where Jaeryung wouldn't shut up about it to her best friend, [plot three]. All she could do was talk about Chanyeol or email him.
relationship: French sweet-talker
Romantic dates watching the sunrise, teaching her the basics in the lovely language of love, and even taking her out to fancy restaurants he has been to from the last time he went to France, Jaeryung goes on romantic journeys to the land of cheesy fairytale princes and princesses. What both initially believed to be a fling turns into something more when things get personal and they start talking about their lives in Korea. Suddenly Jaeryung feels like she can trust someone other than Kris and [plot three]. She hates that that cow turd Bacon keeps ing – karma~ – but Chanyeol always manages to escape and the escapes make her feel like Korean Jasmine with her Korean Aladdin who isn't a liar running around France. Where that analogy came from, no one's too sure, but that's how she always describes it to [plot three]. On one occassion showing how jealous both of them could get, Chanyeol began interrogating her about Baekhyun and Kris and Joon. Whereas she roughly hip bumps every girl that even so much glances at Chanyeol – you don't even want to know what happens if someone starts flirting, the good 'ol Jaeryung tongue gets put to use and some nasty words come out...though no one can understand since she says it in English – Hey, they're more likely to understand English over Korean! Her romantic fantasy adventure though begins to confuse her because for some reason she can't help but smile everytime that tard face biscuit Bacon comes in and tries to ruin the fun.

comments: This looked pretty and the plot was cute! I can't wait to see what'll happen! And yes, I do really speak French in real life. Wasn't sure if my colours were considered pastels...but I hope they aren't since I think they aren't blinding colours or unreadably light colours.
