'rant for lost reason

Alright, pass over the crying moment when I had to reinstall my browser for the second time, I just had to put down some thoughts down since there's not much to do around anyway apart from sitting in front of my PC and struggling to write some new chapters, which I miserably fail to do OTL

So, AFF has been my 'home' for more than a year already and I saw how things go around here, how stories get featured and all. And lately, this up-vote thing came up, creating an entire... mafia? Oh yeah, mafia for karma points, desperate pleadings/threats/beggings to push that damn button. People, why? I want to ask: why? Why asking the subscribers to push the up-vote button in exchange for some 'products'? This ain't the real world where you have to pay for every you buy. And there sure are plenty of people/shops/authors that do the same things for free? So why ask them to push that button? Did humanity lost its last trace of reason? I mean... if it's not voluntary-- the up-voting, the subscribing, the commenting, and it's mandatory, where's the sincerity in doing that? Just for the sake of doing it?! Gain karma, gain karma, gain karma! KARMAKARMKARMA!!!... Yeah, right... Quoting CL here, "You ain't without your crew!"

And really? 'Karma sharks'?! What is that now?! O.o

And the featured stories... strange thing, some really know who's going to be feature next. Interesting, don't you think?

As well as all those 'awesome' writers that do nothing else but look down on the others. I don't think you're born with intelligence. You gain it as you go through life. Just as talent is developed through years. To become the best in writing/singing/dancing/painting etc., you need to practice. And well, someone has to see your bad becoming good and then the best they ever saw in their entire life. So cut me some slack here, alright?! I'm not the best, God knows how far I am from being near being a good writer, but I try, alright? With all my might and all my being, I struggle here. And I write because it's my hobby, not my damn job or anything like that! So give me a break alright? And the same to all those who write about Mary Sues/strange pairings/unknown bands, those who have ridiculous grammar and think that are the world and an absurd 2165123456355 number of subscribers, those who are just reader -- give them a break too, alright? We're not here to judge anyone, you know. We're here to enjoy the same thing: stories about the people we like, about the music we like listening to. So stop giving me the crap about who's the best and who's going to be featured, 'coz it ain't matter anyway! It's not like winning a Nobel, guys!

Now I'm gonna be bashed and hated and unfriended and blocked and all the things you can do around here (reported too?! O.o) but sincerely, this was on my chest for a while now and I just had to get it off!^^'

but still it has so many subscribers
and the underrated authors are losing motivation
so they delete their stories

Actually, what do you get from all the up-votes and stuff...getting featured aint everything. I came to this website only because i can make like-minded friends whom i could talk to about kpop without being judged

Yeah AFF is becoming commercial sadly, it's not about the stories anymore.

I actually agree with what you've just said there.

I just tried to read some of the featured(by votes up) stories and pretty much ALL of them are , mostly SuJu pairings... I'm not into stuff and I'm basically BEGGING to see a worth reading story on the homepage.

Secondly, about the karma stuff. I saw stories that were advertised which had BAD grammar and pretty much all of them have the same plot, some of them were incredibly bad; and why is that? Just because who knows? Someone has been around for 3 years and commented on lots of stories or wrote lots of stories and had lots of karma to advertise, but seriously those stories DO NOT deserve to be up there!

There are also people who have no talent!(I know I sound harsh but it's the truth) but got the money to buy Karma and advertise their ____ty stories. This is pretty much ____ed up! I know and understand that they need some way to gain some money out of the website AND that the Karma needed to be put to some use; but someone should really manage the stories that get featured by votes-up or karma.

AGREE AGREE AGREE!
I'm sorry I don't know what else to say because you've already said it all!
After all, Jason created this website for his girlfriend, and for people who LOVE to write, not for people who wanna be popular or to show off their works to look down on others who aren't as good. --'

If you're bashed or hated or unfriended or blocked, you'll still have some of us who'll stand by your side. You'll see. I honestly don't see the use of karma; never actively tried to get it or even used it. Sure, I'd love for my stories to be featured or get a ton of subscribers and comments, but I'd want it so I'd know I made someone smile or to get feedback so I can become a better writer. Like you said, I joined to share a love of Kpop and its idols; not gain attention. Then again, our similar thinking's probably why we're close sisters, right? ^^ Don't stress yourself out too much, Kitten, but I'm glad you used this to help get it out. *throws cheesy Woohyun heart at you*
