Experience:

How long have you been writing? Hmm...5 years? Approximately.

Have you ever created/co-authored/participated in a writing workshop? Nope.

Have you ever created/co-authored/participated in a review shop? Nope, but I've browsed through one.

Link me your three best fics with a brief description on what it's about and why do you think it's one of your best fics.

1. http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/333375/1/perfectly-flawed-oneshot-yongguk-bap
This is “Perfectly Flawed,” a oneshot about BAP’s leader Yongguk because he’s awesome. Basically, “I” am writing in my diary about my ideal guy and my best friend, Yongguk, reads it, says he’s my ideal guy, and asks me out. I think it’s one of my best because...well, I don’t have that many on AFF yet so there’s only so many to choose from. But I do actually think it’s one of my better pieces of writing because it was my first time trying out future tense in a story and I think it fit really well with the plot. But it
is a oneshot, so it might be a little under-developed.

2. http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/330842/1/dancing-in-the-rain-oneshot-jongup-bap

This is another BAP oneshot, but this one is about Jongup and it’s titled “Dancing in the Rain.” I love writing about rain because it can be really meaningful and symbolic, and in this fic the rain serves as a stimulant for the two characters. So there’s a girl who hates rain but loves the outdoors and dancing, so one day she decides to take a walk outside because she’s been cooped up inside her house for days due to rain. During another walk in the rain, she comes across a guy who likes to dance in the rain as well and she’s amazed by his skills. During many successive walks, she and the guy dance in the rain on the same road but neither approaches the other. Finally, one day, he drops something, so she picks it up and returns it to him and they have their first conversation and start hanging out. I think this is one of my better works because it’s mellow and sweet--at least, I think is it--and I don’t write this type of story that often. I just...like it. But then again, I like all of my stories.

3. http://www.asianfanfics.com/story/view/322083/bap-drabbles-and-oneshots-open-for-requests-yongguk-zelo-himchan-jongup-bap-daehyun-youngjae

This is my oneshot/drabble collection. It’s BAP, because I’m utterly in love with them right now and probably will be forever. I think this is one of my best because I like to try something new and different (to me) with every oneshot. For example, chapter six is completely dialogue. Not one sentence of narration. It was difficult but fun. A summary for this one is a bit difficult, but each chapter is a different scenario for one (or more, I suppose) of the BAP members. It’s open to requests but so far I’ve only had one.

Philosophy:

What are your views on...

The current featuring system. Hm. Well, I'm still relatively new to AFF so I still don't exactly understand how the featuring system works, but it seems...difficult to get featured. Are they based on upvotes? Because not all good stories get the amount of attention they deserve.

Popularity. Uh, what kind of popularity? Lik, how many views or subscribers a writer gets per story? Again, I'm relatively new, so I'm not sure how one measures "popularity," but I think that a lot of really good AFF writers don't get nearly enough readers and attention. I, personally, don't care that much about popularity. I mean, I guess I kind of do, because I want to please lots and lots of people with my writing (which is why I aim to be published some day) but it's not really the number of readers I get that's important to me; it's the fact that I even get readers and commenters and subscribers that makes me happy.

AFF writers in general. I have strong opinions on this subject! I feel that the majority of AFF writers are very inexperienced and don't really care about their writing skills and conventions. They just want to write out an unrealistic fantasy about being with their biases, hence all the second-person ("you") stories that allow one to "be" the OC that ends up with the idol. I admit that I've written a couple of those "you" stories as well, but I do check all my grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc. and I try not to make them super cheesy and cliche if I can help it. But I know there are some amazing writers on AFF; I just think a lot of them are hidden.

AFF in general. Overall, AFF is great! I love it. There’s so much talent and potential to be found here and all the friendly readers and reviewers can really help a writer improve his or her skills. The graphics are all so beautiful, too.

Image and reputation. Well, I hope people only have reputations for writing amazing stories, but since not every writer can be great, there are probably some with reputations for writing bad fics. I don’t like this reputation stuff, but I’ll admit that I do like to uphold my own reputations. It’s natural, after all, to try to live up to people’s high expectations, not wanting to let them down and such, but I think sometimes reputations need to be ignored for the sake of experimentation.

What is in a good fic? Logical plot, emotion-inducing scenes, complex and consistent characters, good grammar/spelling/punctuation/etc. There should NOT be any smiley faces or emoticon faces or whatever, nor should there be any author notes in the middle of the chapter just to explain something.

Writing influence/inspirations? Anything and everything. But a lot of times, I use quotes or parts of song lyrics that really strike a chord in me. Sometimes, I’ll have a daydream that gets really long-winded so I’ll write it out and it becomes a story.

Favorite books? Oh, so many, I can't choose just a few. Well, there's Rick Riordan with his Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus series, which are both amazing, and of course JK Rowling’s Harry Potter books because, come on, who doesn’t like to read sheer genius? I also like Sarah Dessen because she writes fairly realistic stories with a lot of emotion, and I love LJ Smith, especially her Night World series. Oh I love The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, but I feel like the two sequels weren’t as good. Cassandra Clare’s Mortal Instruments and Infernal Devices series are amazing, but it seems like she’s trying to drag things out now, and it’s getting a little boring. The Gemma Doyle series by Libba Bray, were so beautiful, especially the first one, A Great and Terrible Beauty. And, oh my goodness, how can I forget Eoin Colfer? Ugh, he’s such a genius! I love love LOVE his Artemis Fowl series WHICH I CAN’T BELIEVE ARE OVER NOW and his other books are amazing as well. He’s just a fantastic writer. Oh yes, and Anthony Horowitz’s Alex Rider and Power of Five series are awesome too! There’s so many more, but this list is getting a little lengthy, so I’ll just cut it off here. But just wondering, do my fave books affect whether or not I’m a good candidate?

Why do you write? To express myself. I know, that’s such a cliche answer, but there’s a reason it’s cliche: it’s true. Writing is my passion. When I write, I let out my feelings and desires and it’s so freeing, because there are no rules when it comes to writing. I write what I write, and while it’s great getting reviews and subscribers and stuff, that’s not why I write. I write for myself, because I’m a selfish person, and I hope that by indulging my own desires, I can satisfy those of other people as well.

Co-author responsibilities:

How do you handle pressure? Whenever I feel extremely pressured, I sit myself down for a good five minutes and just tell myself to let everything go because in the long run, none of it matters. For example, when I get a bad grade on a test and I’m angry at myself, I take a deep breath and think, It doesn’t matter; one bad grade won’t kill me, and then I’m good.

Are you up for writing full length chapters even if I'm not there to double check your work? Sure! I can double-check my own work if need be. Just give me some guidelines for the chapter and I’m set.

Are you aware that people will check out your work without you knowing? Are you okay with that? Yup! I’ve been posting work online for years now and I don’t know who reads any of my fics (except for a few friends), but I’m thankful for all who do, even if they don’t like them.

Are you a Grammar Nazi? Occasionally. Well, actually, I am, but I don't like to show it too much when I edit other people's writing because I don't want to seem too mean and harsh.

Will you be online around 7 PM PST to update the workshop? Depends on my schoolwork, really, but I will try my best. Usually, I think I'm on around 7, but sometimes it's like 4, and other times it's 9 or 10.

Are you objective or subjective? I try my best to be objective, but of course it doesn't always work out, so I can be pretty subjective sometimes. But I think I'm fairly objective most of the time.

Not everybody will be nice to you. Can you handle that? Oh yes, I don't care about “haters” and such. I'm confident enough in my own writing and opinions and I can accept tactful criticism, but when it comes to those rude people who don't have anything better to do than bully, I just ignore them. Or laugh at them. I mean really, do these complete strangers expect me to care that they hate my writing or my ideas? I only care about the opinions of people I know and respect, and I definitely don’t respect strangers who like to insult everyone.

Ooh, I hope this isn't too hard to read! Each question-and-answer paragraph is like this huuuuge block of text. Well, I hope you read this and seriously consider me! I did put a lot of time and effort into this app and I'd love to help out with the workshop. I may be a little inconsistent, but I'm extremely reliable when someone is depending on me.

Anyways, probably no one will read this post but whatever! Good luck to all the other applicants! :D
