Give Give Give. That's all we Authors do
Okay so as you know I've been considering whether I should continue AFF. But until I made that decision im on 'hiatus'
I still browse around aff doing idk what.
But every day.
EVERY day, I get new comments.
This should be a good thing right?
WRONG.
Even with the new comment features in place to stop the karma farming, the readers still don't understand. "Hey nice fic. Please update soon" IS NOT ANY BETTER.
They do not notice the large 'HIATUS' words on the title.
Yeah some of my fics dont have that i could forgive, but its mainly on the fics that have the hiatus sign that make me just think whether people read or not.
It's so frustrating how some people don't understand that by telling someone to update wont make then write any faster.
What would it take for the AFF community to realise that?
I'm not aiming this at all my readers. If you do read and know me, you would know I am easy going and passive. But i seriously can not stand it any longer. Yeah sure at least people dont say 'update soon' anymore... I had my hopes up... but now its "hey niice fic. Update soon"
...
I just
I don't understand.
Yeah sure there's a downvote button now, but i just dont wanna downvote any comments because that would be too harsh.
Why would general readers need karma if they don't have fanfics?
Ehh sure there's the voting for next featured story thing, but at least put some thoughts into your comments if you want karma
Also... Another huuuge issue.
Along with these 'improved' comments (notice the quotations), there have been some really... just really idk how to explain.
As we know, FFYA is complete, yes?
I would expect comments about what they thought of the fic since its already done and over with........
What i least expect is to recieve comments, inboxes and wallposts about the pdf file........
obviously if I replied the first 20 odd people that i don't have the file.... I don't have the file.
It's no use telling me that u wont repost it. That it's only to read offline.
How am i supposed to give you a pdf file if i don't have the file to start with?
There's editing, revising and formatting involved since i did not keep a hard copy.
I had been working on the first 20 chapters and managed to even get a context page using google (yes i researched how to use a context page).... but with the workload piling up i just don't have the time.
FFYA was finished back in July around 4 months ago, and yet people still ask for a pdf file.
Don't give me your email to send to you, because I do not want anyone's email. Don't add fancy sweet words to make me give it to you because I have nothing to give.
I just...
I just wish that it was back during the MLMB days.
Less stress. No expectations.
Honestly I think I'm overrated. I made a rogue account. Posted up a chapter and story that i worked on.
7 subscribers in 3 weeks....
Posted a oneshot on this account.
100 subscribers in less than a week and around 10 upvotes.
iiEatBubbles is just a too mainstream AFF name now.
This account is too overrated.
There are so many new writers out there that I've read from. They have the ability to create such amazing stories yet they are gone unknown. With me, even just a foreword would catch the attention of readers because of the name 'iiEatBubbles'.
If I ever do come back to AFF, i think I'll just cut my stories short. Take out less drama and leave ambiguous endings.
After that's done, I'll move to my rogue acc.
Start anew.
I dont know anymore.
Random rants here and there.
-sigh-
I'm tired of it all. I admit, my locksmith heart is beating. It's beating quite fast too.
But my writing spirit is in the dumps.
I'll just write my stories and save it amoungst my many abandoned projects on my laptop. I give up on posting.
It goes unappreciated nowadays anyway...
A tired author, signing out
