Cold, Heartless, Ice. This is what she seems to be like on the outside. Truthfully, she is just another lonely child, craving for her some family love and warmth. JaYeon hardly smiles. Situations when she will smile would be that she really trust the person she's talking to, or when she is alone singing or dancing. Being raised by only a male, she grew up as a tough girl. It's not that she's tomboy and all. JaYeon knows how to protect herself. Sometimes, she ignores people who are trying to be friends with her, but actually, she just find it hard to open up to anyone. She learned from her father to only trust herself and her dad. It seems like she's boring and all but the thing is, she's actually very fun to be with if she completely opens up to you.
She hates skinship and aegyo. It would be polite to shake someone's hand on their first meeting, yeah? But she would NEVER ever shake anyone's hand even if she would be considered rude and no manners. If you ever try to hug her, ready to get a blue black right in the eye. She hates hugging and finds it really disgusiting. Everytime she walks on the street and see girls using the sick fake aegyo like "buing buing~~", she would pretend to puke. It's just plain yuck to see fake aegyo.
JaYeon may seem like a tomboy just by hearing her personality yeah? No, she's not like a total tomboy but not totally girly either. She loves dresses, sneakers, beanies, shorts. The thing weird about her is that she hates skirts but loves dresses. Well, you have to refer to 'background' to know why. At times she would wear heels. When she's wearing heels, it's the best to not mess with her. Make her mad, she would either stomp on you with her heels or take it off and throw it accurately at your knees.
She is a sporty girl. She has long slender legs that travels fast across the tracks. JaYeon had win several medals for Running competitions. Even though she's happy, she does not express it by smiling. She just keep trying her best. The entire school knows her for her 'persona', for her running skills, for her amazing looks. She could totally be an ulzzang. Everyone in the school calls her "icy ace" for being such a cold person and an ace for running. JaYeon also has an extreme obsession for guitar. She begged her dad literally to get her a guitar when she was 12. She's already a pro at it despite being self-taught.

Her parents had divorced when she was only 6. As only a 6 year old, she was mature enough to understand what was going on in her family. She knew that her parents fight everynight about finacial issues and eventually her mum started going home lesser and lesser. She mentally noted to not get involve in any of these, and to not get to close with her mum.
After her parents divorced, her mum stills visit JaYeon once a week. Her mum would always bring cute skirts for her. Since JaYeon loves skirts, she loved that her mum always visited with one of those. That was the only thing she like about her mum, giving her those skirts instead of her Dad buying her just shorts and jeans. When she was 11, her dad thought she was old enough to know something.
Her mum divorced because that she was having an affair with another married man that has a daughter. Her mum was just using finacial issues as an excuse to get divorced.
It wasn't about the affair thing that made JaYeon hate her mum, but the fact that those skirts came from that dirty man's money, that man who had ruined her family. From then onwards, she never wanted to trust anyone, smiling less often till the point that she hardly smiles anymore. Even her closest mum could betray her, who else can she trust?

When she was 14, she had a best friend, Im SeoWoon. SeoWoon was rich girl, once a bully. JaYeon told Seowoon that her mum left her when she was 6. Instead of getting an encouraging sentence from her bestfriend, all she got was, "ha, you must be an useless trash that she abandoned you." She didn't know that that sentence would affect her that much even though SeoWoon was just joking. From then on, she wanted to prove everyone that she wasn't useless. As she had a passion for performing on stage, she practiced singing and dancing every day for at least 3 hours.
Being an ace in sports, Dance was not a problem. JaYeon had natural dance skills. For singing, she only found out that she had a beautiful voice when she first tried singing properly when she was 13. Taking that as an advantage, she trained herself for 2 years before officially going off to Seoul herself to audition for SM Entertainment, the most successful entertainment label. She was immediately accepted for her looks and talents.
