One by one they leave

They curse,

They judge,

They put me down only to rise higher than me

“You’re welcome” I should have said.

You smile,

You say nice things,

You show me your personality,

You make me believe.

They cut my wings, and you let me barrow yours.

Even though you know that by doing so leaves you, drowning in the darkness.

Assure me that it’s okay.

My heart dies with you, and I forever keep your smile,

5 years passed and I feel you closer to me.

I open my eyes, only to see you laying in a hospital bed besides my paralyzed body.

You remained here; that’s what counts.

I reach for you, but you seem farther by every step I take.
