Personality:

Sungjae is a nice and caring guy. He pays great attention to details and is always open to listen and give an advise. He helps others and is a hard worker, but, he is also playful. He likes to tease and play jokes. Don't worry, he knows when to be serious. He is competitive with a condition. Truthfully, he's pretty laid back and doesn't really care for winning unless you give him some motivation or a catch. For example, getting a kiss for winning, money, a date, or something he wants. If he wants it, he'll put in 200% of his abilities. He's very patient and always wear a smile on his face.

Truthfully, Sungjae rarely shows his true feelings and emotions if they are negative natured, like if he's crossed, hurt, jealous, or sick. He thinks that it's better to keep it all to himself since people don't really care anyways. He's afraif that they will think that he's too big of a burden and abandon him all alone and hurt. He's also afraid that people might take him as one of those people with a broken single parent family with money problems, who is only friendly to others so that they will lend him money to blow off again. He doesn't talk about his real family, just his adopted one. That's why he's such a good actor. Sungjae hates owing anyone anything and won't ask for help even through something impossibly hard. His motto, "I made it this far on my own, I can go further." Since he thrives alone and has always been alone, he doesn't care even if he dies and know that no one else will care either. He'll throw himself in front of a car to save a cat, without thinking. He claims that he will go further for a dear friend.

He cares a lot about his friends and adopted family, since they are the only one he has left. His father has been missing and only comes around to borrow money from Sungjae. He likes skinship and is very affectionate. He's not afraid of doing it in public either, that's why his fans love him. Sungjae never confesses first for every boyfriend and girlfriend he has in the past. He never says "I Love You", he just shows it in his actions. That's why he always does sweet and romantic things for his girlfriend/boyfriend. He thinks that it'll be easier on him when they leave him if he never says it.

Sungjae likes to try new things, no matter how bizzare they are or how scary. Remember, he's not afraid of dying. He would eat fried grasshopper, cockroach, centipede, try stunts like bungee jumping, rock climbing, parasailing, even sky diving if he has to. He likes to be healthy, so he will wake up early to do sports first or make breakfast for everyone since he thinks that breakfast is an important part of the day.

Background:

Sungjae was born in the year of 1992 in Los Angeles, California. He has always been the independently playful kid that never demands anything nor expects anything. He was 5 when his family moved to S.Korea. His mother died when he was 10 and his dad had to take upon the double role. The stress was overwhelming and his dad cracked under pressure. Especially after his business caved and ran into the ground. Sungjae was 12 when he has to start working in the real world to earn money for himself. He runs errands for the neighbors and keeps the money in a secure bank account opened by one of his neighbours, just in case his father comes in and takes his money out to blow it off drinking and smoking. He then got tossed out by his dad when he was 15 and got taken in by a family friend, hasn't seen his father in a long time.

He is always so confident about whatever he does, even if he is not particularly good at it. He was confident when he married the love of his life. He was confident when he opened his restaurant. He was confident that he'll be able to win in gambling games. All the things that he did, he regretted soon after. He regretted marrying my mother, saying that if he didn't, he wouldn't have to be stuck with a useless kid that can do nothing but money out of the family. He regretted opening his restaurant especially when it bankrupted, taking everything we own with it. One thing he never regretted was disowning me. He tossed me out when I was 12, sending me to roam the streets. He gambled and smoked and drinks, wasting away day by day. Always depressed and only comes to Sungjae when he needs money.

It made me feel very grateful to him, so I try hard by getting scholarships and helping around the house, starting from housework to babysitting his kids. he's even kind enough to help push and motivate me to go into the entertainment industry.
Adopted Mother - Park Minyoung - 43 - housewife - She's a very kind lady. She took me in as if I was her own without questioning anything or complaining about anything. I try to help her out as much as I can. She stays at home. A typical model housewife. She makes good food and is very proud at me and her kids. I'm very grateful to her for doing so.
Adopted younger brother - Park Kyungjae - 14 - student - He's a quiet guy. Smart and competitive. He might look shy, but he's not. He just likes listening more than talking. He's very loyal and mature. I've taken care of him since a long time ago.
