Sung Mi is like a smiley sticker. She brings happiness where ever she goes and hate dark atmospheres. She is very clever for her age, being at the top of her class(es). She is very fun to be around and a kind person, kind to everyone she meets. Because of her 'too kindness' she is taken advantage a lot. She isn't the talkative girl as you expect her to be. She becomes more lively and talkative once she gets to know you. She hates when people judge others by there looks, so she doesn't either. If they were chubby, scary-looking or just out of place she wouldn't care, she'll take to them no matter what their reputation is. She is a very active girl and can't sit still for too long. Sung Mi was born in Vancouver when her mother was starting a business and her father was starting to become a lawyer. Sung Mi's life can be as normal as it can get. She went to school everyday, was social, had friends, got good grades and studied hard. Her life is nothing out of the ordinary. Her parents were always home when she was home.
When Sung Mi was starting High School, Lauren was born. Which made her happy that she had a little sister. She vowed to herself that she will do the best to take care of Lauren and she doesn't plan on breaking that vow, for a long time. Sung Mi didn't think it'll be that hard taking care of Lauren since her parents would do that for her. Her High School years were great, she had good grades, good friend and nice teachers. She was already taking prep classes for collage on her tenth year.
Every summer her family would go to Seoul to visit family and friends. Sunny and Key would be one of the first people she would be with when she reached Seoul. The three of them would always hang out that was if they were free from there schedules.
When Lauren was around the age of three, her parents began busier and had less time for Sung Mi and Lauren. Therefore Sung Mi had to take care of three year old Lauren while handling her School work. She wasn't mad at her parents for not being there for Lauren because she understood that they are busy and she would just have to accept it.

After thinking of the pros and cons about becoming an idol, Sung Mi finally agreed to audition, thinking that she wasn't even going to make it to the second round but, to her surprise, she did. she was even more surprised when she got accepted as a trainee. Ever since then she has worked hard to do the best she can and was admired by other SM trainees and popular among them too.

how did you meet: In a airport. When Myungsoo was wondering around the airport, he bumped into Sung Mi, who was looking for the washroom. Sung Mi was lost and Sung Mi looked like a lost little child so he decides to help her find the washroom. At first it was awkward between the two but after a little while Sung Mi decided to start the conversation. They talked and laughed during the whole walk. Myungsoo likes how Sung Mi was talkative enough so that he didn't have to talk a lot. When they did find there way to the bathroom, they were about to exchange good-bye until Sung Mi also admitted she forgot where her waiting area is. Myungsoo waited for her while she was in the washroom and when she was done they were out looking for her waiting spot. When they found it, this time, they exchange good-byes. When Sung Mi left Myungsoo noticed she had dropped something and that something was her student ID card. Myungsoo couldn't return it back to her because she had already left for her flight. They meet again when Sung Mi debuted. When she was introduced to the public, Myungsoo quickly recognized her, making him say Hi and ask if she remembered him but Sung Mi didn't remember him at all. So now, Myungsoo is determined to make her remember him and their airport meet.
