Sekaiichi Hatsukoi-The World's Greatest First Love
Literally means 'The World's Greatest First Love'.
This is yet another beautiful shonen ai manga-anime. The author is also the one who write Junjou Romantica. Both of them have similarities when I watched them : Both are beautiful, hilarious, and so touching they made me cry.
There are also three pairings here, just like Junjou Romantica
1. Formerly-literature-editor Onedera Ritsu quit his job from his father's publishing company to keep his pride to his coworkers that he didn't coattails his father and can publish successful books in another company. Yet the scenario he made shattered when he discovered that he is putted into shojo-manga (Those cheesy girls comics...) section of the company named Emerald. And the editor in chief... is really something else he didn't expect to meet.
2. Hatori is an editor of Emerald for top mangaka Chiaki Yoshino A.K.A Chiharu Yoshikawa, his love for 28 years their friendship. Comes Yuu, Hatori and Chiaki's friend since Junior High, who also works as Chiaki's assistant and having crush on him since they first met.
3. Kisa Shouta, a cute, young-faced 30 years old editor in Emerald thought he would never be able to fall in love since he picked his flings based on their looks. He might make some exceptions for a handsome bookstore employee who always make the books Kisa edited sold well, a 21 years old Yukina Kou.
The storyline has some similarities with Junjou Romantica. But it's maturer and really nice. There are some dramas here and there, but not that kind of sickening drama that made you get tired of watching them. At first I thought the story is harder to understand than Junjou Romantica, but it was actually me being unattentive xD
The characters are really beautifully drawn. My personal favorite is
Takano Masamune. Not only because of his good looks, also because of his persistent, gentle-harsh at the same time, and somewhat hilarious effort to get back his ex-stalker's love Onodera Ritsu, who left him after a brief relationship because of a misunderstanding. Masamune really is a type of person that deserves to be loved, just like my favorites in Junjou Romantica's Usami 'Usagi' Akihiko and Kusama Nowaki.
I just watched its last episode. And Takano's quote in the end really brought tears to my eyes.
"I didn't think I'd ever love you this much when I first met you. You are not the first person I'm going out with, but you are my first love. Not that you even know that."
