Hanbyul isn't someone who should be taken lightly and has no time for jokes. She can be a bit straightforward with the things she says which can sometimes cause other people to think she is rude. Background:

△ haeundae-gu, busan. » All her life, Hanbyul has been surrounded by music whether it be the traditional korean music or classical music like Beethoven and Chopin. She began playing instruments at very young age. Nicknamed "the musical prodigy", Hanbyul was well known for her extraordinary abilities. Her parents wanted her to follow their footsteps as a virtuosa. She began showcasing her talents through concert performances at the age of 11. The more she was forced to play, the more she grew tired. She still enjoyed it, but she really wanted to explore other genre of music. Everybody thought Hanbyul would have grown up to becomce a virtuosa much like her parents, but Hanbyul really wanted to do something else.

△ los angeles, california. » Hanbyul and her family moved to LA at the age of 14. There, Hanbyul began developing a bad attitude due to her influential peers. By the age of 15, Hanbyul started to rap in both English and in Korean. Her rapping skills which much more different than what you would usually hear as a rap. Her delevopment of rapping was based on the rapping of Epik High's Tablo. It's a more subtle, solemn kind of rapping that you can be able to fall asleep to. Her parents didn't really condone to Hanbyul's little "phase", but Hanbyul still continued to play instruments. Her parents decided it would be better to move back to Korea in hope of subduing Hanbyul's attitude. Back in South Korea now in Seoul, Hanbyul lost most of her attitude but still had a little spunk in her. She started to become mature which pleased her parents. Hanbyul used this oppurtunity to audition for SM Entertainment. She easily passed and that began her trainee days.
