My SM Youth Star Auditions Experience!

My SM Youth Star Auditions Experience

My SM Youth Star Auditions Experience!

IT WAS HELLA FUN. It will be forevermore a memory that will reside in my heart. :’)

Alright, so my audition was over at Delta Burnaby Hotels. THAT PLACE WAS SUPER DUPER GIGANTIC AND TRULY, HANDS DOWN, BEAUTIFUL. I shall transform as an analytical, quirky teen I really am. Yep, I’m aware of the fact that my personality is clashing and contradicting. Deal with it.

A staff came to greet us with the following: “Hello, how may I help you?”

“Where is the audition taking place?”

“Climb the stairs and it’s to your left.” The staff was very welcoming.

There was a sign that I came across “SM Youth Star Auditions” with the typical pinkish background. As I made my way up, I was greeted with a flood of participants, gleefully fan-girling about this event. Finally, after a few steps, I finally saw the waiting room.

It was beautiful and luxurious, flaunting with lights and booming with SM Music Videos. I registered, filling out the information as follows:

Name

Birthday

School/Grade

Experiences in the field you’re applying for

Height/Weight

Category you’re applying for

And I’ve signed the form, along with another signature at the back, stating that I agree with the Terms and Conditions SM requires in order to have the permit of letting me audition. This venue truly was a lot more luxurious-looking than the previous SM Global Auditions which was held in Best Western.

These were the videos that I assumed, were played in a loop:

EXO-K What is Love

Super Junior A-CHA

EXO Phoenix Teaser featuring Lay

EXO Let Out the Beast featuring Xiu Min and Kai

EXO Machine featuring Kai

PHEW. Typing everything out sure was a pain in the . « Anyways, I happen to see a friend of mine from the YG Global Auditions. We fan-girled and conversed and giggled and all those stuff girls in their teens do nowadays. I was also introduced to two of her first-timer auditioners. I don’t recall their names. ._. Uh-oh. /head desk Anyways, there were also a couple of free water at the back, which I of course took, because hey; who in the world dislikes freebies? I sure don’t.

My number was B14. I had to wait a couple of hours, maximum of three hours before I finally received my turn. They called out “B11 to B20, please line-up at the back”. I’m POSITIVE that we were one of the last batch to perform. That would explain the short-temperered attitude of the judges.

We had to stand in a line for about a minute or two, leaving our belongings to the hands of the welcoming staff member. She recited out the rules and what we’re expected to do. Drum-roll please… We finally entered the battlefield. Hurray for some action and required information. Let’s go!

The ten of us took a seat in front of a window, exposing the beauty of the city, which I’m really infatuated to. I have a for great views. Anyways, the group that was currently performing did average, if not, below satisfactory. Out of all the participants, I can honestly state that only one of them sang beautifully. Others, eh, not so much. I’m gut-wrenched to say this, but there truly were some people who didn’t prepare enough for this one-of-a-lifetime event, which is quite disappointing and pitiful in my terms.

Our batch didn’t do outstanding performers from SM justice. LOL I hate to elevate myself like this, but only me and a guy that performed right after me did pretty well. Our voices were the most stable from the rest of the group, which is another package of disappointment because in my previous SM audition experiences, there were some JAW-DROPPING performers that auditioned. Their voices were defined, and they very much had a firm control over their vocals. Let’s just say that a huge percentage of my group did the opposite. I may sound really blunt and strict, but I’m actually carefree in real life. Please don’t be intimidated. ._. I know I’m nobody to judge since I’m a participant myself, but these are just my opinions and may not be an accurate reflection of everyone else’s. The judges were intimidating, merely glancing at us here and there, which is disrespectful. I guess that’s another downer. They cut me off about 30 seconds, which I guess is a given, but I’ve spared a load of time preparing for this upcoming audition. I guess my desire of them providing me more time to shine with my vocals was a bit demanding. (Not really). /shakes head But the translator slash camera man was very welcoming, which calmed my nerves down drastically. Literally, I was about to joom joom my heart like a locket. xD I kid. That’s doesn’t even make sense. Pardon my sentence-structuring. SM Entertainment would notify the participant of this particular audition in one month.

Anyways, I took pictures like the poser I am here and there. They also gave away SM Youth Star Audition posters! HUZZAH. b^^d But of course, they had to keep the official ones. But I’m fully satisfied with my SHINee and EXO-K poster. /dances around in glee

The remaining paragraphs have nothing acquainted to the auditions, but it’s still somewhat to K-pop. I took the advantage of the Back To School sale over at a Kpop store and bought the following: SM Youth Star Auditions’ poster, SNSD gym bag, Se Hun and Lu Han pin, EXO bracelets, SHINee photo card and mouse pad, YoonA key chain, Lu Han key chain and GG photo card. You jelly bruh? xD I kid. Overall, it was fun-filled and truly an exciting, memorable experience that I’ll forever cherish in my heart. :’)
