I was longing for a friend,

And then you came

You stayed by my side,

Had fun with me,

And even misunderstood with me

We got closer

As we knew each other

I laughed with you

You laughed back

I greeted you every morning,

You greeted me with a frown

I want to share secrets with you,

You refused to

You said I'm a rookie in your life

And for that I can't interfere

I loved you wholeheartedly,

But I couldn't feel it from you

I want you to stay with me always,

But you've got lots of friends 

And enjoyed their companion

I was once very ill and can't go to school,

But you still laughed with your friends,

Doubting that I was just acting

I looked at you sincerely,

But you looked at me as a joke

I followed what you want

And act as if everything's fine

I didn't want to upset you

Because honestly,

You're fun to be with.

Then the time came when I had to leave you

You were crying, pleading me not to go,

I too was brokenhearted

But what shall I do?

I can't stay with you anymore

I decided to leave with my broken personality

I gained new friends in my new place

And there I expressed my bitter past.

Years passed, I came to understand,

How fake you were to me that time

Your tears weren't fake when I was leaving,

But your laughs and ignorance of my presence,

Makes me realise,

You weren't the friend I was looking for.

You and I were both immature before,

And though you've changed now,

I promise I forgave you,

But the trust I once had wouldn't stay.

I will come to you again,

And at that moment,

I would smile sincerely, the opposite of how you first smiled at me.

I cherished everything.
