Sasaeng Fans
Sasaeng Fans... I'm Scurred of yew and I'm not even an Idol 0.0
Park Yoochun shared his feelings about sasaeng fans in an interview with TV Report back in June. (JYJ was under fire after one media leaked videos and audio files of the members using violence against their sasaeng fans.)
“It is really hard to understand them anymore,” said Yoochun. “I’ve tried for years to understand them and accept them as part of the fandom, but I honestly do not believe they are true fans. Sasaeng fans terrorize us with inappropriate behaviors. I know people say this is something I should deal with, but it really isn’t easy.
This is the first time any of the guys from DBSK have been under attack by crazed sasaeng fans. This is a list of things they have done and I can’t even imagine how they’ve gone this far without any legal action.
-Installing security cameras at Mickey’s house
-Moving next door
-Sneaking into their apartment and kissing them while they’re asleep
–Made a copy of the key to DBSK’s apartment
–Followed Changmin, then broke his pinky finger
–Froze DBSK’s phone account, checked their call history on their cell phones, and checked one by one to see if they called a girl
–Looked for DBSK’s personal seal toregister marriage documents
–Snuck in lingerie in DBSK’s bags
–Secretly ordered a bunch of pizza and chicken to DBSK’s apartment and forced them to pay for them
–Saved menstrual blood to give the oppas as a present
–Been the cause of their car accident
–Found the phone numbers of family members and called them
–Hit Changmin with a bag full of rock
–Used members’ social security numbers to sign into various internet sites
I’m sure there’s more to add to this list but if it continues I may end up being more disgusted than I am right now. But this is just the icing on the cake these are some of the daily activities of what some sasaeng fans do on a daily basis.
–Sasaeng fans usually sleep or spend the night at PC rooms. Some will even be homeless during the summer and skip out on school. Extreme sasaeng fans go as far as to drop out of school completely.
-Some girls even go to the lengths of ion to make money for sasaeng activities.
-Sasaeng taxis can be found waiting around outside of celebrity dorms or broadcast halls to catch newbie and desperate fans.
-One sasaeng even offered $100,000 USD if the company could steal her idol’s underwear.
Other idol groups such as Super Junior, SHINee, SS501′s Kim Hyun Joong, EXO, B2ST, & INFINITE are also victims of sasaeng fans. Last year Yoseob from B2ST tweeted, “Keep scribbling away.”, because sasaeng were coming to the dorm writing on the walls. Even their manager tweeted angrily,”Please don’t make Yoseob suffer.” Shortly after, Hyunseung also left a message in his YOZM saying “Can the taxi stop following us?”, directly pointing to the same sasaeng fans.
Kim Hyun Joong from SS501 took a nicer approach to sasaeng fans by meeting them in a convenient store near his apartment. He treated them for some drinks and told them politely to go home.
Recently Heechul from Super Junior recently terminated his twitter because of sasaeng fans. He tweeted on July 9,
“Don’t come in front of the house or the borough office. I thought I became a lot nicer after I was 30, but I don’t think I can do this. I still have trauma from my car accident and it is scary, driving away like my life depends on it. Even though it might be disappointing, I can’t help it because I only have one life. This is my fault for not being more understanding.”
He continued,
“Also, don’t overcharge and take money from foreigners who don’t know anything. When you laugh and cheat them, it makes you seem like thugs. With this message I hope there aren’t any more victims. I am not going to tweet for a year and live quietly. I will see you in a year. Thank you for all the birthday wishes.”
I find this quite sad and very disheartening to hear that Heechul had to do this because these idiotic demeanted fans continuously bother him.
I know these sasaeng fans are human, but psychologically they need help immediately or better yet a lobotomy. To go to these extents to get close to idols is just completely going overboard. These fans feel a sense of worth and pride stalking idols and they say,
“We’re just really good fans only loving our idols. We don’t wish to really cause any harm towards them.”
If they can only take a step back and evaluate what they just said, then probably they could come to terms of what they’re doing as completely on the mental side. I don’t care of you’re a fan girl or fan boy, it doesn’t matter, any celebrity or non celebrity has the right to privacy and when you cross that line you need to be reprimanded immediately. It’ll be a sad day in the KPOP community when one of these idols are killed because of sasaeng fans. It’ll only take one time for people to figure out that this is wrong and that going to the extreme will cause blood shed more than ever thought of.
