Yiyeon was born in to a well off family of four as the youngest of two children. Her father, Chae Dabin, and a mother, Jung Narae are both part of the Shinsegae Group's board of directors. Yiyeon's older sister by five years, Yiseul, is a popular fashion model. Her uncle on her father's side, Chae Kangjun, works as a member of the Ministry of Culture Sports, and Tourism. Her uncle's wife and her aunt, Kwon Yoonji, works at the Korean Broadcasting Station. One of her male cousins, Nam Hyunwook, on her mother's side is a sports psychologist for Seongnam FC.
Yiyeon actually never planned on becoming a commentator or going into journalism. She actually dreamt of having an artsy career or something within animation. It wasn't until middle school where she had given a speech and received positive feedback. Many complimented on how sweet her voice sounded and that many would love listening to that constantly. Since then and even into high school, Yiyeon was tasked with making announcements and commentating during games and festivals. One of her friends eventually suggested for her to make a career out of it.
As for gaming, Yiyeon had played on and off with her sister, cousins, and friends, but never really took any of it seriously. She just played for fun until her last year of high school where her friends hosted a gaming party and asked her to commentate on the gameplay. She was teased for not knowing positions or characters which made her realized that if she wanted to take this commentator career seriously than she needed to brush up on the information so she wouldn't seem like a fake person when speaking.
Eventually, Yiyeon wanted to experience everything first hand and actually get a feel for it so she could talk with the right words and feelings of it. Soon Yieyon found herself enjoying the game adn the gameplay itself. The more she played the more she became engrossed in it all. It was a bit unhealthy at first, but Yiyeon was able to find a balance of playing, commentating, and her own life.
Yiyeon's family avidly supports her career choice, but no one really knows that she would rather be an avid gamer instead. Her sister knows that she's hiding it, but won't talk about it unless Yiyeon brings it up on her own accord. YIyeon received special help in her commentator position at KBS through her aunt, but it was through her own merits that kept her on. Plus, Yiyeon gets primary and secondary information through her uncle, aunt, and cousin about people, players, events, and other things.

Also as a benefit if she should ever travel overseas for business purposes with her parents or sister to which she chose an English name for that reason. As an INFP, Yiyeon calls herself an ambivert at times or what others would prefer to her as an outgoing introvert. This side of her depends on who she is with or around and how comfortable she is with the people or the situation unless needed for work purposes. She feels like she's herself the most when gaming.

I specialize as a Mid Lane. My secondary position is Bottom Lane, followed by Support, then Top Lane, and last Jungler. I believe I'm stronger at roaming and skirmishes and that it provides safety to me, but I don't mind the other positions if needed.

No. Don't have time to socialize like that even though socializing is what happens on more than one occasion. Although there's a lot of rumors that happens due to my age and beauty with a lot of the older men, but I shut that down real quick. Then again, it never really dies down.

Serim is friendly, easy-going, affectionate, and supportive, but often times tends to neglect his own needs and well-being when caring for others. He can be straight-forward and charismatic whilst making those around him comfortable. Some times his energy can be a bit too much and overwhelming which calls for people to tell him to chill out and just relax. Other than that, Serim devotes his time and interest for those he cares for and will at times go through great lengths to show that at the cost of his own self.
Serim has played soccer since he could remembered and dreamt of being a professional player. His dream came true around the last year of high school when he was recruited to be part of Seongnam FC. He plays as one of their defensive midfielders, but can play all positions if needed. He usually plays in the second half of the game and his squad number is #33. Unknown to Serim and Yiyeon herself, but Kangjun pulled some strings to get recruiters to look at Serim during gameplay due to Serim being Yiyeon's boyfriend at the time. There were other scouts checking on Serim, too, but Serim chose to go with his city's FC team to be close to home and probably be near to Yiyeon. Sure, he wasn't the all-star of his team or a genius player like others, but Serim's passion, dedication, and own skills gave him merits to where he is today.
Yiyeon and Serim used to date back in their high school years. Yiyeon broke it off in their final year as she realized he became too focus on 'them' that he neglected his own life and teammates where he should've been focusing on his own soccer career. Yiyeon herself also wanted to focus on her own career without being tied down and was upfront about that with Serim. She never regretted it and after high school the two drifted apart to do their own thing. Although from time to time, Yiyeon would come across Serim and his team when commentating, but other than that, the two haven't talked or crossed paths. As for Serim, it really shocked him, but he couldn't really do anything about it. He just turned all that focus and energy into plays although a lot of 'what ifs' lingered around in the back of his mind. He dated others after Yiyeon, but he couldn't really forget her. Some times he'll look out for her if she ever drops by the vicinity or listens in on her commentaries. She really did have a soothingΒ voice.
