Family background and history: MIn Young was born to a Korean mother and Tawianese father. She has an older brother who is 2 years older than her. However, he is studying in Canada as Min Young's family moved there 3 years after she was born in Seoul. Her brother decided to study in Canada for university. Min Young moved back to Seoul when she was 15 to audition for different companies for  singing.
