First Day
I started work experience today; I didn't expect anything big - just that it was a normal, boring graphics company that I'll be stuck with for a full week.
O M G
popped into my head the moment I set my foot on the luminous arc entrance.
The ceiling of the office was painted; then silk patterns hung over it, creating a deepening affect. Little lights dotted around the whole thing and made it look realistic. The whole network of fairylights and beams dimmed and adjusted slowly as time went by, so it darkened with the actual atmosphere; as time neared evening, the setting changed completely, little stars programmed to turn on underneath the silk patterns. It was awe-inspiring and beautiful.
That was the ceiling and the ceiling only.
Music and sounds played around the whole room, little speakers stuck to the chairs, desk, floors, laminators, printing machines - EVERYWHERE. It also adjusted with the lighting of the room; turning more and more relaxing as the evening came near. Have you ever experienced listening to a gentle sonata in chello, looking at little stars (?) shining in masses on the ceiling, and making a cup of tea for the team of 25 staff?.... well, it's quite magical ^^
Every inch of the office was a test space - designers made, stuck, cut, piled their ideas and made a truly wonderland-like office. Every type of theme was available - I actually even saw a little DBSK poster on the music themes.
That's the office and the office only.
You go into the reception, and you will be instantly hit with the dazzling brightness of glowing floors, walls, furniture and ceiling. The theme is 1980s neo. Everything is surreal when you look at it for a long period of time... it's <3 I want it so much XD
So much more to explore of the building... and it was only the first day of my work experience; I have a feeling that I will never forget about this place.
