In 2009, “Ikemen desu ne” was shown in Korea, the story of an ordinary girl falling in love with the best of the ikemen, and now TBS is remaking this very successful drama.

This remake stars: Takimoto Miori, in her first starring role, Tamamori Yuta and Fujigaya Taisuke of the idol group Kis-My-Ft2, and Yaotome Hikaru of Hey! Say! JUMP.

Reporter: Everyone is holding onto a different color cushion. What does it mean?

Yanagisawa Shingo: “A.N. Jell” … “It’s the name of our band in the drama.”

The story is a “love comedy”, which starts with the band A.N.Jell adding a new member, and this new member (Takimoto) is actually a girl who is playing dual roles as her brother and herself. Slowly but surely, the members of the band start to suspect something is up, and they all realize they are becoming attracted to her.

In order to play the role of a male, Takimoto chopped off 36 cm of her hair.

Takimoto: “I’ve prepared for this part with a ‘towel wrap around my head’ daily. I thought about wanting to be a boy before, so this is a fun part to play.”

-

The other three, who play the part of musicians, had to learn to play instruments.

Reporter: Did any of you know how to play any instruments?

Yanagisawa: “Yeah, I knew how to play the harmonica (laughter).”

Yaotome: “I can play guitar and bass, but I’ve never played a drum before, so this is my first challenge at playing the drums. I practiced a lot…using fellow actors as cymbals.”

-

Reporter to Yanagisawa: “You’re not a manager, but an actor. How do you feel about playing the role of a manager?”

Yanagisawa to Fujigaya: “Why are you staring at me with that look?”

Fujigaya: “You know, we can say a lot when other people are talking, but when your own spot comes to comment…ahhhhhhhh.”

Yanagisawa: “Really, this is lot of fun. During rehearsal, none of them use the script, as they all have their lines memorized. Then I thought their confidence turned into ‘knowing they can do it’.”

Fujigaya: “Yeahhhhh, that’s what I wanted to say.”

-

Reporter: How do you combat the heat during the summer?

Takimoto: “Playing with water. There was scene in the show where they splashed water on me. It was really cool.”

-

Reporter: “Mr. Yanagisawa, do you have any way you plan to battle heat?”

Yanagisawa: “Me? Ah, I use uchiwa (Japanese hand held fan)…”
