Firstly, hi!

I'll just get to the point and voice out what have been really a pet peeve of mine for far too long already, and I think I just want to voice it out. I really, really, REALLY dislike it if an author update their fic with anything other than their fic itself, with the reason of being a lazy and s like that. What am I talking about? This:

AFF: New story update!

You: OMG. *right away clicks it like madwoman.

The supposedly updated "fic": Hi guys! I'm sorry but this is not an update but I just want to say I'm sorry blah blah blah blah.

Me: ................................ *flips table.

Do you know how immensely annoying that is, when an author update THE SAME KIND OF UPDATE one too many times? If you're away for let say, a month plus, and then you updated such thing like that. I can tolerate with that because it just shows how concern you are of your reader and that you appreciate them for waiting for them to update. Yes, I feel appreciated when an author does that kind of update.

BUT NOT TOO MANY TIMES, PLEASE.

What makes it worse for me is that some authors love to do that after they've posted the same kind of post two days ago. Seriously, it upsets me to no other. If you don't have the time to update your fic, then it's fine. I'm fine with it but please stop notifying me that you don't have time to update it ALL THE TIME because it gives me false hope to see "A NEW STORY UPDATE!" on my page, only to find it is actually that kind of update. It bothers me to no end, really.

So please, dear authors.

Stop that.
