People who...
People who like to “look down” on people who don’t catch up with dramas or music videos or a new song and many others that may fall under that category, don’t you just deserve a punch on your face? I have many friends or acquaintances that I talk to that would always do that. Like, if a song came out like a 6 months ago, and here I am watching random Youtube videos and coming across that supposedly “old” song and I actually like it then start spazzing with a friend, she goes like, “Whatttt. You’re so slow! That song is so old already!”
I won’t reply anything, or if I did, I’d just say “Ya. Okay. So?” I mean, you can’t argue with something like that without hurting the other party, right? And this always happen to me. If that’s not enough, people are getting so “fast” with updates that when a song just got released like 10 minutes ago and I “just” start listening to it, they go like, “OMG. HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?! YOU’RE SO SLOW! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! IT’S SO NICE OMG.”
I won’t know how to react, so I’ll just blink and be like, “Um, okay. Sorry. Ya, it’s very nice.”
And you guys know how there are so many Korean dramas, right? People who have free time will really watch them. People who don’t will not. So, I was in this part of Youtube while looking for videos for the trailer I’m making and I read the comments to this one video from Shut Up Flower Boy Band. A girl commented, freaking out, that she didn’t know that Kim Myungsoo was part of this drama. Then another girl replied to her a reply that really wasn’t needed. She said that the girl who just found out is “so slow” and that SUFB had came out months ago.
I really don’t care about what is happening in their life but today, I just feel like letting out this opinion of mine about people calling other people “slow” just because they don’t get updated on things fast.
Do you know what I really want to say to those people?! There are many things that I want to say in their face but I don’t because I’m not that outspoken and I don’t want people to feel stupid, but that’s what they do to me. It’s just really annoying when they call you “slow” or “missing out” when you’re actually really too busy to do all that.
Like, I’m sorry I’m not as free as you to be waiting for my idols’ song release. I’m sorry I’m not such a stalker like you are. I’m sorry that I can’t spare some time for them like you can.
As much as I love them, I have responsibilities and I’m not that irresponsible to neglect all that just to do something that I want or listen to a song as soon as it’s released just to satisfy you. I’m not like that. And you can’t look down on me just because I’m not as stalkerish as you. You may be so free but I have so many things to do. From all the homework to getting my own rest. Unlike you, I’m not willing to sacrifice my sleep just to stay up and watch a video by my idol.
My idols aren’t singing to keep me awake; they’re singing to achieve their dreams and entertain people. I can listen to their songs whenever the heck I want. Nothing’s forcing me to and I certainly won’t force myself just to prove to you that I’m “fast” with updates. You’re not worth my time.
That’s how I feel. I’m not offended or sad that people call me “slow” but more like annoyed. They’re technically looking down on me because I’m not as updated as them with the biases that we share. But, if you were to look at it properly, they’re just saying that they’re more of a stalker than you are. They have more free time and would make time for their idols if they don’t. Sure, that’s nice and sweet of them but isn’t that just the same as neglecting all your responsibilities for your idols?
How do you think the idols would feel? I mean, if they were jerks and are conceited people, they’d be like, “Oooo, awesome. My fans love me so much that they would do anything for me.” But, if they are responsible and considerate people, not saying that they’re not, they’d be like, “I’m touched that you care for me and would go to that extent just to listen to my music. But, my music won’t go anywhere. And I don’t want to see my fans become so irresponsible with their work just to listen to my music or watch me on TV.”
It will make them uncomfortable and you should know that.
So, in conclusion of this long rant, I shall call it that, I am telling you people who call your friends “slow” or whatever like that that you should just stop. People have their own lives and just because you would put aside your life for your own good, you shouldn’t make other people do the same. It’s their choice if they want to be stalkers or responsible people. Stop trying to make them feel stupid by telling them all that, especially if it’s only to imply that you’re a bigger and better fan of the idol than they are.
It’s stupid and pathetic. So, please stop.
That is all. Good bye and have a nice day, everyone.
