INFINITIZE Review: Let the Chase Begin

**This was first posted on my tumblr account**

2011 Trend Idols Infinite is now back with their latest album “Infinitize”.

As my friend stated in her blog post, Infinitize isn’t a word you can found in the dictionary, yet Infinite has made the word legit.

Infinitize, well for me, can be interpreted as “Infinite” the idols who can “mesmerize” their fans not only through their 99.9 % group dance synchronization but also to their improving vocal skills.

It is nice to hear that resident main vocalists Nam Woohyun and Kim Sunggyu aren’t only the ones who are belting the high notes in the songs from this album. I was surprised hearing Myungsoo’s reaching up for the high notes in some songs from the album. And thank God, Sungyeol and Sungjong had their fair share of singing lines. Rapper line Hoya and Dongwoo has also proved us that they don’t only rap, they also sing.

The tracks are well arranged making INFINITIZE a one great EP. The right mixture of upbeat, dance songs and ballads could glue your ears to your music players and keep it on the repeat mode.

The intro Infinitize has this same upbeat intros they had on their previous albums such as “First Invasion”, “Evolution”, and “Over The Top” which perfectly paves way for the next song which is The Chaser

The Chaser has safely followed their previous formula they’ve used for their winning songs “Be Mine” and “Paradise”. The British pop feeling is always there. And I could say that this is perfect for the title song.

Segueing the music video, yes. The video is nice and awesome and cool. Yeah. You know, the car flipping scene, the motorcycle scene, and their improved acting skills are commendable. But I’m confused with the story line. Yeah. There’s this key which they were fighting over with (Sunggyu vs L; Dongwoo vs Sungyeol…). I get the point that they were protecting the key (which I don’t know what is it about) to the box Sungjong was holdding on the end of the music video. I just don’t get the point  of the limited screen time of Woohyun and Hoya. You know, Woohyun searching for something and Hoya climbing on the wooden ladder. I just don’t get the point.

Also, I’ve noticed that they do not have the “dance point” this time. Or it’s just me who doesn’t know about their dance point. Hahaha. Anyways, the outfits were sleek and stylish, following the trending Aztec prints which is currently the in-thing in the fashion industry.

Yeah. So back to the album, I do not personally like the track Feel So Bad. Not that I’m saying that the track is ugly or whatever. It’s just my least favorite among all the songs in the album.

One of the best here is the full version of the song they have sung on their concert which is the In The Summer. The song is just the feel-good type which makes you want to lay under the shades of trees, sipping your fresh orange juice, hearing the rustling of the leaves, breathing fresh air. Yeah, that kind of feeling. Perfectly ending my summer vacation.

Only Tears, the song that will bring you only tears. Yeah. When they first released the song, I did cry. There is this poignant feeling coming out from their angelic voices. Perfect ballad showcasing their improved vocal skills especially the maknaes, Sungjong, Myungsoo and Sungyeol. Personally, I love the rapper line’s singing voices.

The feeling of “She’s Back” combined with “Lately” is I Like You. Makes you want to dance and sing with them.

Last but not the least, is the ballad song With… I don’t know why did they put a ballad track to end the album but I personally think that arrangement is just great. You know, when you heard a soulful, heartbreaking, ballad track, you will have the need of listening to more songs to ease the aching feeling inside your heart. So if you put it on a repeat mode, you will get back on the first track again. And you’re back on the same hyped up feeling you’ve felt when you first listened to their album.

Yeah. So that’s it. Sorry for the crappy grammar. XD

I just wanna share my observations. You know the Korean variety show “Beatles’s Code” which shows the parallelisms among the selected K-Pop groups as their guests?

I suggest here, you listen to B2ST’s Fiction and Fact Album. You can see/hear the parallelisms I am talking about. :D

Seven Infinite idols are chasing you!
